I understand they want to get money support for their time dedicated creating such content, but are they going to pay for the license themselves to the original car company?
On another subject, is good they (URD) collaborate with Kunos to create official content for the game, even if as paid DLC, but I still think selling self-made mods is illegal. Ironic or not, I also use unpaid content from the internet, so don't jump on me for talking about illegal mod distribution.
I notice on their projects page the car is clearly a BMW but without the BMW badge and has a fictional name.
I think Waxx's point was more of 'you don't HAVE TO buy them'.
Yes, that was precisely my point. I could have conveyed it better, but it wouldn't make any difference anyway. Some people just can't understand the very basic market principles.
Self-made payware mods are not illegal as long as the mod creator aquires a license to the modded content or the content is fantasy based. Not sure about rebranded stuff (rF2 Bayro anyone ?)
URD cars are 100% fantasy :D
Totally :D
I thought it is simply not controlled or tolerated by companies, maybe cause it isn't worth it to sue modders.
Anyone know about the actual situation?
I agree. They never made a Ferrari, they made a ferruccio.
They never made a BMW, they made a Bayro.
Etc...
LOL
As long as they are not ripping any assets I dont care who does the work as long as it is of a high standard.
I might not buy the DLC as apard from Nord there's little that appeals to me.
Now if they bought out a HistoriX type mod Id be all over that. Paid or unpaid, again with quality being the decider.

I have no problem with the outsourcing as long as KS keeps the quality high from these external projects. Personally, I do not like the colors in the URD mod. It still has that wierd cartoon-like, unnatural bright colors to my eye (IMHO,YMMV) as in rF2. I guess the URD guys did some porting of the rF2 to AC?
As long as their is full disclosure of how worked in the DLC I have no problems with Kunos' direction. As other state above, it is up to the buyer to decide if DLC is worth their money.
:)
now i wonder how much would be cost the dream cars dlc 20usd or maybe 30usd with that i buy another game or a season pass
