Cars sliding too much
1. What worries me is the cars are sliding almost equally if you make mistake and slide while doing 30mph or 150 mph.

2.Sense of speed is non existing, even with different FOV settings.

3. Almost all cars are pretty unstable for such expensive cars.

1. Play some Flatout. No sliding there.
2. Buy 2 more monitors.
3. Play some Flatout 2.

1. depends on the cars. Cars with tremendous aerodynamic downforce such as the open wheelers lose that downforce at low speeds and rely on mechanical grip, making them less stable than you'd expect. Remember, Assetto Corsa is a simulator.
2. triple monitor setup not being an option, pick the Lotus Exos t125 s1 or the Lotus 98T. Problem solved.
3. there are cars with built in assists such as ABS and TC. Pick those if you're having problems with braking and accelerating. Or pick a weak car such as a Formula Abarth.
I am an old sim racing fan. Always played only racing games that were sim as it can get. But, somehow, It is a different feeling when I drive xmotor racing, game stock car, or even older titles like gtr, gtr 2, race on, stcc...

My question is, how to use cat with its factory settings? I drive with pro profile, with manual transmission and turned off assists. But how to be sure I drive a car with its default assists on? (dont get me wrong, I like my settings to be difficult as it can get).

When you're in a car that has traction control or ABS built in, it's automatically on, you can turn it off manually using Ctrl-A and Ctrl-T.
So what do you recommend. After practice, will I be faster with abs and tc, or just one of them, or wihout both?

I wonder if those guys which state such ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ here ever were to a track with a fast car and not just riding around legal roads with theyr fiat punto jeeeeeeeez !!!
I am driving a 200HP car. Enough for me. I only stated that cars slide around too much running 20-30mph. I cant see a car slide 40-50 meters in game while running at low speed. And I still think that 300kmph doesnt feel like 300kmph.

That lack of sense of speed is due to the FOV. Press + on your numpad to increase it, even though it's less realistic if you're using a wheel.

dude, you have to be kidding me right? Or wait, you've been serious, haha, that is even more funny ! :D

300kmh > plz try it with oculus rift, nuff said, your monitor isn't a windshield and don't forget that your sitting in a chair, not in a car which runs 300kmh

and yea, put some slicks on that 200HP "monster" car and go to a real track, not on a legal road where trucks and regular cars drive, youll see how you slide when your breaking from 100kmh and push your break to the max. The consistency of a race track is completely different than a legal track.

Obviously never been on a track with slicks, go, try, return and then comment about how the car is sliding ...

Calm down, man, there's no reason to go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on his arse.
I didnt call my car a monster... I only stated I drive fast sometimes since I have a fast car and I know what 220 kmph looks like.
My wish is that I am wrong, and now, when I heard opinions, I guess is that indeed I am wrong. I love assetto corsa and its the only game I play for months now, but some things just were too unusual for me, and pretty different from other games which people considered good race simulations. All in all, im a happy ac driver, in need of better wheel than logitech formula feedback :) Sorry for the thread :)

The cars don't just randomly "decide" to slide. They react to what you do/how you drive. If you're sliding all the time, you need to adjust your style and practise. And then practise some more.

I'm not going ape♥♥♥♥ on his ♥♥♥♥ but I hate it when people come and complain when never drove a real car on track. This game is the real thing. I'm not a professional driver, but I drove some laps with some really powerful cars around Brno Circuit and Slovakia Ring and i can tell you i never had such a beleveable feeling while playing a game then this one.
