AC fanboy: "This game is most realistic sim eva, man."
Normal guy: "So why does this game not have working lights, day/night or red hot break disks?"
AC fanboy: "Shut up, lights are for noobs! Go back to NFS."
Of course, it's dumb that we only have one light source, AC badly needs two things, a day-night cycle, and weather.
But, it really isn't necessary to have reversing lights, because you shouldn't need to use them, it's like having indicators. Actual working lights would be fantastic though. I don't think I've ever had anyone saying we literally don't want stuff like working lights and weather.
Is known the graphics engine wasn't built with multiple light sources.. I think they bought the base of this graphics engine and then built on it. The conception and plans for assetto corsa was just to be a small in size simulation game with little content and features that just focused on having the thing working properly. But things changed and they decided to expand upon it, and now we have a ton more content and features thanks to the devs and to the community who kept helping financially and with important feedback on what's missing and needs fixing. All in due time, probably in the year after this one they put their hands on a more evolved graphics engine.
LOL, so true; but it is entertaining. :)

One light source has nothing to do with it, there are headlights and brake lights. Neither of these illuminate anything but they do glow.
Reverse lights and glowing disks are a gimmick anyway as they have no effect on the game. Sure they could easily enough be added but I cant say I care if its there or isnt. Glowing brake disks also only glow when dark so as there is no night racing its kind of pointless. Games that have glowing disks in the middle of the day are purely a gimmick.
The only people that really care about such things are doing it wrong and clearly in the wrong game. AC has spent more time focusing on driving physics then many fancy effects that have no impact on the driving model.
Many of these more arcade games have fake glowing brake disks, reverse lights etc but drive nothing like a real car. I do know which I prefer and it amazes me how much useless detail some game developers but into driving games yet they cant get the most critical aspect. The actual driving even close to believable.
Kunos are a small team and can do quite well with what they have, some teams may have hundreds of people working on these useless details and maybe 1 guy part time on physics. :)
I never said they were needed, just curious as to why they aren't there is all.
True, but at least there is a horn I guess hahaha. I just found it odd reversing lights were missing is all, didn't know if there was something about it I wasn't aware of so I thought I'd ask about it.
I did not just say that Project Cars equals the latter of those descriptions- Just wanted to make it easier for those that can't grasp certain.. . idioms.
