assetto corsa or competizone?

I'm interested in delving into SIM racing. Won't be getting a steering wheel for a while but would like to try it out with controller first. Which version would be recommended for me to try? I feel like asseto corsa (2014) with the ultimate bundle would be a good start?

Is competizone for online play only or does it have single-player mode with a story mode?

Both have single player and career. Both are amazing games. Assetto corsa is general cars, many tracks, and really many mods. Competizione is gt2-gt3 and only official tracks. For me i get corsa, and when finish it will start the carrer of competizione. Both are hard on controller, but avoid evo. It is still alpha, and always online.

Assetto Corsa. It is a great all round multi purpose sim. A good place to start.

get an Xbox 360 or Xbox One, or PS3/4/5 and FM or GT for controller. AC and ACC are not for controller. You can try it, but you will be out of competition and give up. RaceRoom is more optimized for controller and you can try it for free, and it's ok. Same thing for AMS2. Don't buy it if have no a wheel. There is no story mode in AC and ACC, buy PS5 and GT7 for fun.

if you're gonna buy a console so you can play racing games on controller, you might as well just buy a steering wheel and play AC
