Note, there are no in game effects like that that would happen on >all cars< but few cars have some sound artifacts at the end of rev range. I think a car that has limiter slider in setup would be best to check on.
Lastly, very rarely a hardware induced "beep" can blend in. Like capacitors or motor vibration. So there might be something funny happening with the rig.
I'm not sure since it's been a while since I played AC but I believe that beeping is a warning that you're over revving your engine and are about to wipe it out.
That has happened to me a couple of times when going around a sharp turn on the Monza track where I down shifted too quickly and red lined the c.rap out of my engine and IRL terms, blew it up.
IIRC there are some options in the damage section you can set that either turn that on or off.
i like that effect to an extent, thionk its implemented in one of the settings...
or else see this as a stupid comment and ignore me at any cost ;*)
SRS, is that in the soundcards settings you mean?
