Xbox 360 controller custom controls
I just bought the game, and found that Assetto Corsa forces me to use the triggers on the Xbox 360 controller for gas and brake. This setup is terrible for me, but the controller options do not allow me to change the throttle and brake control to the right stick, anybody know how to do this?

No, sorry. Not sure if you can. But I'd recommend learning with the triggers (or find other options), as you can't leftfoot- or trailbrake, if you have both on the stick. :)

Lies...download "xpadder" and remap it yourself. Will work. Xpadder isnt super simple to use but there are tutorials that can help you.

Anyone trying the wheel setup and using the controller to config? Just a thought

Did you try using wheel/custom setup instead of the xbox 360 dedicated one ?

It should allow you to setup any axis to any analogue input (steering and any of the three pedals).

Yeah, I tried the custom setup, after I told it to load the Xbox 360 setup, and now it just uses the default Xbox 360 setup, and ignores the custom setup settings. I don't care about using the gas and brake at the same time, I've used a gamepad for racing games in this way since Gran Turismo 2, I'm not changing for Assetto Corsa unless I get a G27. :)

Save your wheel/custom setup to a new preset and reload it.

read the instructions how to find the files where you can edit it manually in this guide:

open the settings in notepad and just switch the functions, easy

Yeah, I'll probably wind up with a G27, eventually...

So, where is the function to put the throttle and brake on the right stick?

ya I checked out his tutorial on it, it is very good but having issues finding out how to overwrite the throttle controls for the triggers and puting the throttle commands on the right thumbstick on the 360 controller.

@Jaybee, Have you found a solution to your problem? I prefer using the right stick for brake and throttle as well (Gran Turismo Style). If you know of any solution, please post back with your results, thanks.

I use the f310 on AC and use the right stick for throttle and brake. Didn't need to use the logitech profiler either. You might have to do it once or twice to get it right: Options -> Wheel/Custom -> Main Controls -> Should be able to click to assign the steering, as well as gas and brake. There should be a checkbox to mark the gas and brake linked off to the right as well.

It is definately possible as that is exactly how I play AC.

Initially I had the same opinion as the OP - in driving games (such as Grid Autosport and Dirt 3 which I'm also playing currently), I would use my F310, similar to new F710 I just bought and A was accelerate and X was brake, RB for gear up and LB for gear down, triggers for look L/R

But I have seen the light in the very few hours I have been playing with my new F710 and the Triggers for Accelerate and Brake and A = gear up and X gear down. Admittedly the triggers are tiring on the fingers but hopefully the springs will slacken just a little and I will become more accustomed to their use.

This game requires much more finesse driving. If you set the X and A to accelerate and brake, then it means either 0 or 100% accelerate or brake and that does not produce finesse.

I thought the Trigger would take much more time to get used to but I am delighted how quickly I am getting to grips with it - give it a try and stick with it.
