Or, simply increase the Rear Aero by 5 or so notches, then work your way backwards to find a setting that allows you to throw yourself into the corners without losing the rear or understeering off the track.
I've also found that softer suspension in general (more-so on the rear for this issue) helps the drivability of the GTs. At least if you plan on attacking kerbs.
The GT cars are deceptively hard to drive. I usually race with the AI at 100%, but have always struggled in the GTs relative to my performances in other cars.
That said, IRL the McLaren is known for being a little twitchy when pushed.
As for the AIs, at 100%, the fastest car can clock a very respectable lap time, frequently quite close to my hotlap fastest. I don't do a lot to my car to get insanely low lap time and I would like to think I am slightly above average. When I am the first on the grid, the second driver although never had a chance to overtake me, did came a couple of seconds behind me at some point when I made mistakes. When I set the AI at 90%, they are really no challenge at all as I am gaining an average of 5 seconds lap time on them.
Do note that the comments made about the AI was based on a one-make race using the BMW M3 GT2.on the Nürburgring GP.
It has much more control, still it does tend to lose the rear sometimes and now I'm struggling to keep up in the fast corners. I think it's a hard car to drive and why the FIA decided to reduce the horsepower of this car to equal the driving standards in GT3 is a big question mark to me as the BMW Z4 is also a very manouvrable car with lots of downforce but quite a bit more HP.
P.S.: I use a 360 controller, I guess a wheel would give much more feeling and handling, especially for midship cars.
have you tried fiddling with the car setup?
A 2 and a half year old thread dug up. After countless updates this is how the car is. There is nothing wrong with it. Maybe try setting it up or downloading someones setup for it.
Only some simracers seem to have a problem with it thou. Mostly because they end up being controlled by their car which is fine for understeer but then they wonder why it's soo bad when it's oversteer time.
How long will you gonna whine about the AI or the cars before manning up and actually taking control of the car?
You don't need hours to get a fast setup, the problem is that default set IS the fast setup. In contrast with many other AC default setups being on the safe (understeery) side.
Also even if you wanted to tweak it for yourself, just increase front roll bar by couple clicks and be done in couple minutes not hours.
And im not even a fan of mclarens, they are trash yeah, but nothing undrivable on them if you know what you are doing.
