Two questions...First, how do you like your real life F40? Second, the F40 is one of the most challenging cars in AC to drive.
Try the abarth will be much closer to a civic and a fwd car needs to be droven so differently to a mid engine rwd car they are about as far apart as possible in 2 street cars. I assume you have never driven a high hp rear wheel car before and no matter what you do to a civic it doesnt make it a supercar.
Its still quite funny how some people claim the same game has too much grip while others say it doesnt have anywhere near enough. You may want to try the train simulator as everything handles like its on rails there :)
It drives exactly like it does IRL (I've driven one in real life) Unfortunately things like how F'ing comfortable/body hugging the abarth seats are can't be replicated but that's my fault for having a ♥♥♥♥ chair.
Are you honestly comparing the traction of a grocery getter honda civic to a Ferrari F40? LOL, wow... some people
That F40 makes more than 3x more power than your Honda Civic and is running on early 90's model tire technology which isn't nearly as good as today even if the tires are wider on the F40 than your Civic. Putting down over 3x more power is just going to be tougher, and that's assuming you are using the Stage 3 version in the game which makes more than 4x more power than your Civic.
The flip side is that its a vwery rewarding car if you can master it but that is what most people say about driving the car in real life too. Understand that just because AC's car physics aren't what you're used to, doesn't mean they aren't more accurate than what you're used to. Just because you can't jump into a nearly 500hp car and zoom around the track without making mistakes doesn't mean that the game needs to be changed. It means that you need to respect the car's power and learn to drive better at the limit before hammering the gas.
458 slips and slides quite a bit too though, honestly.
