when driving the car, move the mouse all the way to the right. There are a bunch of different options there

in case thsi comes up in a future search, it can still sometimes be difficult to see...not sure of the best remedy for this, but it should be simple. you can easi ly pin it, which solves the problem, but then IMO its -too- distracting. fortunately i generally prefer it off, but ill prob try to get on kunos's case about this sometime.

just drive enough laps on each track and you won't need the track map, too distracting. Hint: add just one opponent in a 10 lap race at 90% and follow him around the track in the same or a similar car. That's how you really learn to race a circuit and find the best racing line.

Driving-lines 101:
Touch every piece of kerbing.

False, especially in wet conditions. Should also add that some cars don't go too well with some kerbstones, and sometimes hitting all kerbs isn't even a sign of you driving a proper line.

Edit: Here's an example in the dry. Buttons Pole lap in F1 from 2012 (Spa)

You see he doesn't hit every kerb, but about 70-80% of them. Simply because some aren't supposed to be touched (Inside pouhon).

Or Webbers pole lap in Monaco. (Check the hairpin, for example)

How about turning off the full-time green into-red, for corners, striped driving line?

*Where are the settings for some difficulty reduction? Driver assists options...AI speed and skill settings?*

Is the sim level all the same, by default, and unchangeable for everybody?

(That HUD map ought to be there. It just isn't present, by default, and that is a dev failure.)
