Ultimate helmet cam experiance will be using the oculus rift, i see very little point in making my already limited vision of the game world through my monitor even smaller by sticking a fake helmet skin to block a big chunk of screen if thats what your asking for.
I get a much better field of view using a helmet then i a sim with a 27 inch monitor. If you were sitting in a car with a box cut out to resemble a 27 inch screen while wearing a helmet then youd still see well outside the edges of the screen from your helmet. Then wouod you also want to take even more view out of that box to see another helmet in it as you dont really even notice the one your wearing as it really doesnt obstruct the view as much as you may think.
Helmets are designed to give the user the best possible view outside of it so i always get amazed when people want an ingame view that is much worse then what you would see with a helmet on.
what h/w does this require to work? will a simple sony ps3 eye cam work?
thanks
There's an extensive guide on setting that plugin up properly (made by the author) on the official assetto corsa boards.
