G27 very loud when turning wheel while car is stationary
I just loaded up for the first time since the update and noticed that when the car is stationary and I turn the wheel (even just to center it) the ffb feels odd and it makes a noise like dragging a chair across a kitchen floor.

The effect is still their but quiter when travelling below 5 kms per hour and then at higher speeds the wheel behaves fine.

Has anyone else come across this issue?

G27 owner: Got the same issue than op is xperiencing. Rez's proposition is noted, but what are the undesired side effect coming with a damping effect turned at 0% ? (noobish question for many i guess, plz educate me).Because if there are other signicative loss to be noticed when turning damping to 0, i guess i'd prefer to endure the weird feeling when turning my wheels while the car is stationnary, and keep the rest of the benefits of the damping effect... (keep the car immobile is not the main point of the game anyways:)
Assetto Corsa is not designed to take advantage of a "canned effect" that gets simply added outside the game. So the downside is: things will begin to feel better, perhaps?

Maybe you won't like the change in feel. Then: well, you have to live with the noise. It is after all a gear-driven wheel. Gears do make noise. Even helical-cut ones.

Cheers, that has stopped the noise. On the downside the wheel now has no resistance when the car is stationary, but it is preferable to sound it was making.

I find it odd that this was not a problem for me prior to the new patch. I also have some conserns about whether there will be some lost ffb effects. (I think the weel feels a looser and lighter now but that might be in my head, i'll have to try it out propery when i get time)

no worries , you won't lose any details in FFB ... since 1.2 update they removed the slider for damping effect in the game options ... maybe you had it set to something between 5-10% (i think that was standard setting ingame) ... so now you might need to put maybe 5-10% damping effect in profiler to get to "old" feeling back ???
