Sounds missing on new cars
So after the update, alot of cars are missing their sounds. The modded cars,as expected, but also the audi and gtr.

I removed the game from the hd, downloading now and im gonna try a clean install.

Does anyone else has sound issues with the latest car additions??

Btw, Zandvoort rocks:)...great track to drive.

Did a clean install of AC and only the GT-R Nismo, GT86 and MiTO have sounds on my end. All the other cars give me the crackle of doom like there are no sounds whatsoever. Attempting to fix the issue but really should not have to with every F*#@KING update Kunos puts out.

Ok, did a clean install and tried the new cars and some of the older cars and the sounds seems to work fine now.

@Cheetor, yeah its kind of a hassle every time

The v1.2 game update uses the same version of fmod as the version that broke sound mods in v1.1.5.

I'd advise for everyone to delete any sound fix mod they installed, and install it from the game. Is not enough to uninstall the game, you must delete manually, since steam uninstaller won't remove mods, only original game files.

Which car mods don't have their sounds working?

@QUF.

The only mod that I have now installed is the Mclaren Mercedes Mp4/13 from Virtua Simulazioni , and I have no problems with that. Sounds work good.

I'll try some other mods tomorrow .

The solution isn't a sound fix. The solution is some modders sparing a couple minutes and run the fmod software to compile the sound .bank and guids files.
Kunos is relying on a 3rd party software (FMOD) and yes sometimes is an incovinience for some fmod updates to break sounds, but the solution is to fix with a 'sound fix', because that is literally throwing away the new improvements done to new sounds. So modders need to update their sounds sometime. Would be easier to update everyone with a system like steam workshop.. but so far I think every active mod got its sound updated for the current fmod version.
The ones that didn't, are mods that aren't legit because the 3d model was ripped and physics for those cars are just average, so those are just some quickly made mods that the modder won't bother any more.
That's not what modding is about.

Still no luck even with a clean install with no mods applied. FFS Kunos test your ♥♥♥♥ before putting it out instead of forcing everyone to look for a hotfix.

So you don't have sounds in original game cars? That's odd, because I and many others do.

I'd say the best way to solve is to delete the whole AC folder from /Steam, and the AC folder from /Documents. (here in documents, you can just rename it instead of deleting, then a new one is created, but for the ac folder in steam, delete it). Delete it manually, don't uninstall from steam library, won't erase any modded files.

I did all that and it STILL GIVES ME THE CRACKLE OF DOOM! I don't use mods and I still get that unbearable crackle instead of the car audio. If it helps I use Windows 10 on my machine. I am practically at the end of my rope in trying to deal with this tempermental POS software that breaks everytime KUNOS decides to put out an update.

Says the guy that is using windows 10..

Did you install from scratch of let it update? I've seen plenty of posts lately of issues with just updating to windows 10 /vs/ a clean install.

Driver Issue?

etc?

Reinstall sound driver with a newer version (realtek usually). Check your speaker/subwoofer cables. Connect a headphone to your pc and test the sound.

Reinstalled my creative labs soundcard driver to see if it will help with the issue though I am not feeling very confident at this point in the process. Might end up having to wait until August for the new drivers for my soundcard that are compatible with Win 10 if that does not work. For comparison PCars has no issue whatsoever when it comes to car sounds.

*Edit* Turns out reinstalling the drivers for my soundcard has solved the CRACKLE OF DOOM issue quite well. Used the Audi Quattro to see if it worked and so far so good.

I got a Creative labs card (SB X-Fi Titanium) and it says drivers for Windows 10 comes out in August, but downloaded the older driver and the autoupdate software installed some updates or what ever after that the sound worked as it supposed to. Windows 10 btw works just fine, there is some small bugs but games I've tried so far runs better then ever. GTA5 is so smooth I cant believe it. Witcher 3 works real well too. And I drove around the new track in the 458 Starge 3 today and it worked perfectly.

I think giving Microsoft just a few weeks and this will be perfect, there is some bugs with the menu and other small things but other then that its been awesome.

My hardware.

i5 2500k @ 4.3 Ghz
16 gb HyperX Ram from Kingston @ 1600 Mhz (XMP)
90 Gb Corsair SSD
1 TB Mech. Harddrive, cant remember brand now. WD or Seagate probably.
EVGA 970 SC 4 Gb

Nvidia's drivers have been broken for months but the latest seem to work fine so thats good too. 353.62, they had one 352.63 aswell witch was confusing... :|

Think its still in beta but it works, no problems now, it used to give driver crashes both in Win10 TP and Win 8.1 Pro... now it doesnt anymore.

You can use the sfx sound "fix" by replacing the sfx folder in the content folder (be sure to back up any original Kunos files and folders). However, you have to copy the latest GUIDS.txt file provided by Kunos back into the sfx folder--if you don't, your car mods will have engine sounds, but the four new cars from Kunos will not.

The new GUIDS.txt file from Kunos includes all the "bank" and "event" references for the new cars.

I deleted all files in the "sfx" folder and had let steam check for missing files, it loaded all missing soundfiles new, maybe a solution for you.
