I tweaked then the Setup, so that the back is more stable by breaking and some other things. After tweaking the Car, I was able to drive 1.58 min on that track.
In my first rounds I shifted to early down, from 3 to 2 gear and the back turned out, the engine break is very hard from 3 to 2 gear, so I had to shift down a bit later or keeped the 3 gear in the corner.
You have my sympathies.
It is naming used by AC for different "tuning" levels of cars.
In games like Gran Turismo similar naming might V-Spec or similar, for example. And there are others like that in different games and manufacturers/brands and so on.
Audi has used many ways of naming that sound similar but are not same thing, for example road-going R8 is very different from LMP1 class R8 racecar.
Edit: still, I am wondering if suspension really is that soft and brake balance somehow odd..
It was heavy 6 based on a FWD car layout . the pwerfull 5 cyclinder turbo motor & 4WD overcame the short comings of a heavy car with to much foward waight.
very much all over the front axel some like only 36 % of the cars total waight was over the rear axel , thus the major handeling problems.
Soon as the new Group B cars started to hit the road the Quattros shortcomes came to the for.
Thus Audi had to find a solution even shortening the standard Quattro to make the Sport Quattro didnt solve the major problem of balance the car was even more twitch than the standard cars both with even more power .
The car will alawys understeer & suffer from that twitchy rear end , the Great Walter Röhrl said at first could not drive the Quattro he slid off the road at every bend , he only mastered it after perfecting his left foot braking to balance the car when turning into bends.
He is one of the few people ever to get a result with the Sports Quattro in its S1 & E1 one forms.
So in real life its a hard car to drive at the limit .
The Quattro may have been the start of 4WD sports cars but it was a limited by its links to any older FWD model that the car was based on.
So I find its driving closer to how people discribe the real cars.
Well to be honest, i always went with 2-3 car only. Alfa 155 for Pikes peak, BMW m3 dtm for the rest hillclimb, Mercedes c9 for nürburgring solo and for online only GT cars.
So i never really rode with cars that have s1,s2 versions.
Some of the Lotus also have stage versions, the ferrari 458 italia, F40, this new audi sport quattro, and abarth 500 has an S1.
It's OK that AC uses S3 etc for cars, like on the F40 but it IS a cause for confusion wen there is an actual car called the Audi S1 and in game it's a different car to the one Group B fans know and love, and have done for decades.
It's not the OPs fault that these two terms have clashed like this and I completely get where he is coming from.
Exactly. I am such a big fan of the Group B cars, mainly the Quattro S1 that i didn't realise that there are these leveling performance cars, and i expected a way different thing... But anyway i couldn't say a word because it's free, i am just very disappointed.
The Group B car was named the S1 decades before this game came out and I think you've had a hard time for no reason here, true rally fans will totally get your point.
All you have to do is search Google images for 'Quattro S1' to prove how right you've been all along:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=quattro+s1&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=989&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CCAQsARqFQoTCLXD17zfhscCFY4I2wodot8EHw
It was however advertised as the 'step 1' so I dunno, I can see both sides.
Although I do agree that the images of the car in game were enough info for most people - me included to see what the deal was. So minus ppoints there OP.
