Out of intrest what do you guys drive in the real world or owned in the past? wondering how many petrol heads are playing this game and what is your weekend toys

I drive an old Ford Focus 1.6. It was a right choice at the time financially, with an added bonus of a nice fun chassis. I am not at a point (yet anyway) where I can have a second car just for fun, so I am looking at a Saab 9-3 Aero, which should be fast enough in a straight line (which becomes important for me as my destinations change), yet comfortable and good enough in corners. Eventually I'd like an older RWD coupe or convertible for those fun days out.

My brother drives a Saab 9-3 convertible (2.0L Turbo I think), he was hinting at me swapping my Focus ST for it. I'm not a big fan really, you sit down in it like an old man in a comfy chair, it feels like a real cruiser!

I don't like the clutch feel that much, I span up the wheels when I first pulled off and then it bogged down in 2nd gear (turbo lag?) going over a speed bump on a slight incline (such strange power band), the chassis feels a bit wobbly like a boat (probably because of convertible) and while it has some pull when it gets going it just doesn't feel that great, the steering wheel is about as sterile and lifeless as I've tried in a car and to get reverse you have this lockout system, which I found pretty annoying.

Safe to say that I won't be swapping the Focus for the Saab. He likes it though, maybe I'd just need to get used to it, I'l say one thing.. It's a comfy cruiser!

A few years ago my daily driver was a Honda S2000 with built motor (CP pistons, Carillo rods, Darton sleeves), Turbonetics 62-1 turbo, AEM EMS w/wideband o2 and so on (all supporting mods, RC 750cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump blahblahblah) dyno-tuned at 14.5psi. Nowadays I'm driving a Ford Expedition when I need to haul stuff and a 2008 GSXR 600 the rest of the time. Love my bike but still miss the s2000 all the time.

My first car was a 1970 Buick Skylark w/ a Pontiac 455. It was a drag car that ran a mid eleven second ET in the quarter mile. Damn thing pulled the front left tire off the ground! I do have pictures/videos to prove it so don't troll me. I sold that car recently, which I know I'll regret for the rest of my life. I currently drive a 2006 G35 sedan w/ the six speed manual. The 6MT package includes a "vicious limited slip" and Infiniti's sport-tuned suspension. Honestly, for a car that is rated at 300 hosrepower, it's disappointing. It handles decent for a sedan but, I guess I just expected more. The car I owned before my current one was a 2004 Crown Victoria w/ the police package (P71) It was black w/ blacked out windows, the aggresive front push bar, dual spotlights, antenna's on the trunk, and D.A.R.E. license plate frame to finish it off. I had cops waving at me. I did a modifed intake and coils but, that's about it. Even that car is overrated... I don't know why people think the cop cars are suppose to be fast. It's truly a slow car. Hah. Very fun though... but it will get you into trouble when it looks that much like a cop car. It was difficult not to do 100mph on the freeway because everyone, I'm not being hyperbolic - I mean everyone, moves out of your way. I cop even took the radar off me once. Granted, he looked confused; he definitely wasn't sure if I was a city cop or not as he was highway patrol. Anyway, other than those cars I had two Suburbans from the 80's, one was a diesel, the other a 1989 fuel injected 350Ci. I won't bore you with the details of those trucks though, despite them being great trucks.

Used to daily drift an RB20DET powered S14 though that's gone due to being a money pit. A year later I share a project car with a friend, another RB20 powered Silvia though an S13 this time.

I don't have a current daily driver but I plan to get a Miata sometime this year as a light DD and track toy

Alfa Romeo 156 2,5L V6 for the weekends (you wouldnt believe the price i paid for this one used...1500€/2000usd) + Mazda 3 1.5L brand new (alot of car for the money...).

Renault Clio MKII 1.2 8v (what a simple car to make alot KM with minimal cost, both fuel and maintenance).

I am not that power hungry...i would stick with Mazda RX8, problem is, where i live, the bastard cost about 60000€/82000usd because some goverment stupid rules about double the small engine 1.3L to a 2.6L Exotic car on paper.

track only drag car 1970 Ford Maverick Aluminum 420HP 302 C.I. small block V-8.
runs 11.42 seconds in the 1/4 mile at 117 mph.
car built and matained by me, car is no longer street legal.
all of these are current, to many to list for past cars as I'm 54 years old.
but I can say all past cars were Ford's

Good to see some petrol heads on here :), now I can enjoy gaming again and combine two hobbies at once :D. Brought out my old Thrustmaster/Guillemot Wheel and having fun on AC at the minute. I tune cars for a living and currently drive a Golf GTI TDI PD150 as a daily driver, but have an Rev 1 3SGE MR2, and would love an Integra DC2 :), Alot of my friends are big on Civic EG's. Now I can see me deciding to spend money on simulator fabrication over my boring Daily drivers, i'd rather pretend to be driving the Formula Abarth around the ring than sitting in traffic here in the UK anyway!
