Best racer to play with controller...? Best looking too?
I may have an odd question here but I was wondering what's the best sim racer you could play with an XBox controller. Yes, I know, the best thing to do is to use a wheel so to make the reason for asking this clear: I actually (still) own a G27 but due to physical circumstances I simply can't use that wheel anymore... I can however play with a controller. Hence the question.

Now I am mainly looking at AC and Project Cars because I also like great graphics. (I know Grid Autosport has been released and some say it looks nice and I suppose that's more suited for a controller since it's more arcadish, but it has a limited amount of tracks and I am hoping either AC or PC will come up with a 'full package' of tracks that allow me to do complete championships, which is impossible in Grid. Don't know if they will though...! I also have the impression AC and PC look more photorealistic than Grid Autosport does.)

So long story short: which is the best looking PC racer that can be played well enough with an XBox controller and which will be a bit complete when it comes to tracks/championships? (The little amount of current tracks in AC doesn't impress me much, I have to say... I am mainly looking at this game because I can get it for 50% right now!)

EDIT
BTW I want to play offline only.

AC dont need that much content due Modding. Well you need patience.
Its good playable with controller.
pCars nobody can test now, since its closed.

Since you doesnt look after physics, only for graphics i would say AC wont fit u for 100%.
pCars is the best looking game, but lacks realism and you need the best PC actually (Xeon i7 CPU and R290/GTX780 to enjoy it.
I have them all.

There are two scales when it comes to racing,

AC - Dirt

AC when you want realism and control, and Dirt when you want pure fun and arcade style.

Handheld controllers are better used with arcade racers (dirt, grid etc) and wheels are best used with more realistic racers like ac,f1 etc. However wheels are best on every racer nothing makes you feel more like a driving god than playing Dirt3 with logitech g25 and listening to Let the bodies hit the floor.

Either way, buy a racing wheel! they are cheaper than the game!

infamousmax he has a g27 but cant use it due to physical circumstances read the full post befor commenting
I think AC is not what you want in it's current state. Not having a championship mode.

Being suited or unsuited to a controller is really independent of whether a game is sim or arcade.
*just bought AC today*

I think its worth noting that AC is in Early Acess and is not full optimized and can (most likely will) look better once it releases.

I can't compare it to other games seeing as I have only played the early forzas & GTs (3,4,5) but I am having a blast playing with a 360 pad. I have left the controller settings on default and it seems to control fine for me.

It is worth noting that AC right now has challenges/special events such as time attack/races/etc.. with certain cars.

And it sounds like there is a career mode coming.
well, FINALLY broke down when seeing this sale hit the fan.
Looking forward to more good things being done for the game & can't wait to see what happens with the modding community ONCE the game is finished.
This game is reminding me of Sports car GT & how that game exploded in the mod scene.
I am hoping for more tracks being made by the dev's versus more cars.
This game is really shaping up to be a winner :)
