Game gets lag spikes every few seconds

At first the game ran fine.....now every few seconds it gets a laggy spike things or maybe its called shutter lag ? Sucks cause i cant drive cause of it and ive shut down all virus stuff and changed graphics and all that and does not help.....I think i have 2 other games that do that but ive clean cache and it was fine but not this one

Try turning down the no of ai and grfx settings. I get similar spikes but my cpu is old and cant put up with a full grid of ai

Using Xbox Controller by chance?

not a xbox one but a saitek one.....when i first bought game is ran smooth......now even on screen where it shows car it does the lag spike thing

Does it require emulation like the Xbox controller?

just plugged in and set buttons but that wouldnt be why the game lags up?

I had that problem when using the XB1 controller, but not the 360 controller. I would have thought the game would have treated them the same but idk. When using the XB1 controller...the game will start to stutter after a few seconds and get worse until crashing. After doing some testing I found that it was definitely the XB1 controller. Have zero problems otherwise. It throws out some error about CPU load or something. I wonder if it has something to do with the vibration emulation with the current driver. AC has much more vibration than any other game I play.

weird....ill try unhooking my contoller and see what happens
