NAT Loopback umgehen? How to avoid NAT Loopback?
Hey,

I managed it to run a server on my laptop, a friend of mine was able to join and play on it.
But when i want to join i have the problem with "unable to contact server", this is because im using the same network with my gaming pc and my laptop, therefore my router (Cisco Linksys EA6500) would have to support NAT-Loopback, but he doesn't.
Does anyone know a solution which don't need NAT-Loopback or am i simply unable to play? :/

best regards
Jack0

PS: Sorry i'm tired and forgot that not everyone is able to speak german :D

Hallo,

mfg
Jack0

There's a few ways to fix this but the fastest way is to install the Microsoft loopback adapter - virtual network card. Once that is installed change the IP to your WAN IP and you won't have any problems.

ive installed the Microsoft loopback adapter and for example steam now notice that my computers are in the same network, but i still cant connect to the ac server.
I've changed the WAN IP in the settings for the Adapter. (Is this right?)
Yep all I did was install the adapter and sticked in my WAN IP into tcp v4 with a 255.255.255.255 subnet.
One thing I noticed was I had to stick the PC on the dmz while I hosted because it wouldn't work with just ports being forwarded.
sorry, i can't follow your last step, i don't know how to stick the pc on the dmz :/

i finally found a dmz setting in my router, source ip: every ip, target ip: local ip of the gaming pc
but it still doesn't work^^

1) Log into your router web interface. This is usually 192.168.1.1 on the linksys routers.
2) After you login, select the security tab located on the top menu bar of the web interface.
3) Towards the bottom of the screen you should she DMZ. In the pull down box select Enable and in the DMZ Host IP address 192.168.1.____ inter the IP address of the computer you wish to open up to the internet. (This should be a static IP address)
4) Apply the settings and you should be done.

Just remember to remove the setting once up stop using the server.
Still not working, i think i'll give up :(
thanks for your help!!
sorry to hear, it's a long shot but try setting up a local route on your PC.

click start
launch command prompt
in the new window
route add WAN IP 255.255.255.255 LOCAL IP metric 2

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/library/cc757323%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
this is also not working^^
