Where to buy a handbrake?
Hello.

I would ask if anyone knows any website or any seller on ebay or wherever, for economical hand brake to put the G27.

Thanks anyway!

Question is if handbrake in AC supports multiple pressure levels or if it is just a 1/0 on/off thing. Also usage would be limited for drifting, 'cause you wont use it during a race. ARC did sell one combined with their shifter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G11r-dI4CkQ

You can build something yourself - you just need an finegrain usb input device - like an single paddle and put a tube of metal on it. Try 2 match your clutch paddle as the handbrake (just for testing purpose). If AC dont recognise (yet?) different forces and only works on a 1/0 mode ... i wouldnt put so much money into it

I dont understand why people are combining it with the g27 - just use it as an external device on its own. So you dont need 2 modify your g27. I'm pretty sure everyone got an free usb part at his pc, right?

Thanks for the answer.

The problem I have at the moment, I don't know very well how I can make one lol, I think something like this:

wtf, lol? This stupid thing just presses one button. So you got 100% force or none. As i mentioned before - just check out if AC supports different forces with the handbrake before you are wasting money. If you are driving an h-shifter car, than map the handbrake 2 one paddle.

Its pointless if it works with on/off mode only. And it doesnt get "more real" only 'cause you think you are using an "real handbrake" its ridiculous. Even worse than my english :-P

Fanatec now has one for a hundred bucks.

For it to work on logitech, you will need a separate usb adapter which is another 20 bucks.

Some games you can map the clutch slider to work as hand brake, but assetto does not support it. They should though.

Also stinky board has a foot base you could rig up like this guy. I dont agree with it, but it works.

Both items are a hundred bucks, so I think fanatec solution is best.
Fanatec is known to be slow to ship, but the wait is worth it.

There are more elite versions from richmo tech. Those are not cheap fyi.

I made my own hydraulic handrake which is pending patent to be sold. Some parts of it are still in development for universal applications.

with 5 bucks I added a microswitch and a black plastic lever to the right of the shifter of my G27, drifting is more fun this way even if is a ON/OFF switch. It felt awkward to map one gear to handbrake :(

This is a great tutorial for anyone wanting to build a high quality hydraulic handbrake.

I guess this is good for the do it your selfer.

Mine is a little simpler, with no risk of spilling fluid. I sell mine for about what this build cost. The main base part is the same, the rest is different. I had pictures up, but not one up vote so I deleted it.

On ebay (UK here) there is a guy from spain (I think) that sells all sorts of hardware for sim racing including handbrakes etc...just ebay search for 'sim raciing' or 'racing simulator' etc and you will find him....the reason I have yet to get a handbrake is I have nothing to mount it on lol.
Regards

Having a handbrake is nice, but you don't really need one to drift.
Don't go with Fanatec, went through 2 in 2 months. Very bad design. Derek Speares has one, good electronics but bad frame. Bought an all steel real one for drift/rally off eBay for $50 and transferred electronics to it. Best handbrake now.
