Overnight someone released a ported version of Bathurst but the link has been removed. Does anyone have the track?

That version pops up now an then but it's really bad so I'd recommend waiting for a solid version.

looks ok too me and its raceable so whats the issue, because it not 100% accurate? if it provides good racing that all i care about , been racing sims for a very long time and they tracks back then were even more inaccurate. try them for yourself n not go by what someone else thinks.

Thanks but I would disagree, what makes it a "bad" track? Everything is there in fact I would go to say this track is one of the best available non-official tracks at the moment. All the trees and all the other bits you expect to see around the track are there and so far it drives fairly well, would recommend to anyone who wants to expand their list of tracks.

Going down the hill and through the dipper I had a grin from ear to ear. A must have for any aussie.

I just tried it wondering which version was ripped and its the worst one of them all, its the NFS shift 2 track which is easily the worst bathurst track ever as far as layout goes. The scenery looks nice and conversion is actually pretty good except the low poly mesh effects the surface and the track is twice as wide as the real thing. I cant imagine why they would go to the trouble of making all the pretty background objects only to completely stuff up the track width. :) Thats not against the guy converting it but the original track which I never understood why more casual games needed to double the track width so people could get around it.

I only did one lap but you can almost straight line the top of the mountain completly as its so wide lol. Here is the real track just to give you an idea of how wide it really is,

Ohh I was more commenting on the fact it's a finished track and not a early WIP, the level of detail is pretty good.
I didn't notice that the track width was wrong but all in all it's not bad considering there's no other version available.

I just cant get myself to drive a Bathurst you could easily land a 787 on top of the mountain :) Pretty graphics are second after track accuracy and if the track is so far off then its hard to call it Bathurst but maybe a nice fictional track.

i would agree, if you go to the official forum the early WIPs are actually very impressive. AC set the bar with laser scanned tracks so theres a ton of effort going into getting things as accurate as possible. thats literally & figuratively the groundwork. scenery etc will come when the track is right.

i try to DL most of these conversions & a few of them do look quite nice. but i compare them to iracings scanned tracks & the accuracy is just not there. some wont mind it but its weirdly unsettling to me.

+1
I've tried a couple of versions of Bathurst and it's just not done properly. So far the best sim racing version of Bathurst is in iRacing.

Just fyi apsec takes other peoples tracks and just ports them without permission. Why the devs will not allow him to post on the ac forums well he can post but any tracks he is involved in get removed.

I think race department hosts them unless they get specific remove requests.
