I see these guys website and at least it looks like they are doing it themsleves and not ripping but I could be wrong.
I know about that sound problem. I have a sfx folder for modded cars and one original sfx folder. if a car is not working I just rename the folders and it usually works then. When it comes to car mods I look for quality over quantity. Ingame cars have such a high quality that most mod cars do not satisfy me.
As I am part of that private assetto garage group now I can say that they do their stuff on their own. They even ask the "community" on their fb profile which car should be made next and tease you with preview wip pics then:D
Is that so? Mhhh, I found nothing about that. What makes you so sure about that?
They do show WIP 3D models but they could of turned layers off.
Are they available on the official forums or Race Department? No? They're probably rips.
Are they payware addons, but contain real cars? Yes? They're illegal.
The only known exception to this is URD, as they use fake cars.
After what you wrote I went to the AC forum and searched there for a mod list.
I found one with several links and one of those links was a similar page like I linked to before but with paywaremods. They charge by car not 5€ once like the one from my post.
If I find links leading to such pages on the ac forums in one of the first threads how should I know what car is a rip or just a bad port or maybe legal then? If it drives/ feels right and maybe even looks good I am happy.
If you go to the ac forum and search for the thread "A comprehensive list of all the mods - assetto-corsa-mods.wikia.com" and then click on the first link there "http://assetto-corsa-mods.wikia.com/". On the following site you will find some links and the first one is this here:
"http://assettocorsa-mods.wix.com/cars - PAYWARE" and there you will find the audi quattro s1 for example as payware mod..
Actually, that's probably why they're selling them, to try and make back the money that they spent on purchasing the models.

I donated to the bloke, £3.50 is ♥♥♥♥ all really, its not ripped at least and he is putting in effort.
Anyway, it all depends on the physics, if the physics are crap, why bother?
