Any kind of Championship?

Hi all,

Bought AC last year but only started playing recently after the purchase of a wheel. Loving the game so far.

I've started the 'career mode' option but I don't think it includes any kind of 'championship' mode, does it?

Is there any way of having an offline champ mode rather than just having single races?

There's some championships in the career mode.
Mainly in second and third page of career events.

By championship you probably mean a racing season. There is none, and it is not planned in the future, AFAIK.

The career there is, is a cheap surrogate. I would not care for it, its not worth it, mo. The driving is excellent in AC, and the AI now is okay and keeps getting better, but immersion and event handling is something that is very low on their list of priorities. Its all about the driving for the sake of driving, and the car is the star, both looks and physics.

I don't say that is good or bad. I say that is how it is.

OP I haven't ever used it but there is a mod called Assetto Corsa Career Generator from what I gather you can create your own series you want to drive it's not 100% what you want but close.

Assetto Corsa lets you do a whole career, without pit stops, no rain, no night racing, nor championship seasons. Makes totally sense.

The average gamer doesn't want 30 laps. 5 is just fine, sometimes 5 is too long. So Forza isn't exactly wrong in doing low amount of laps per race.

Many laps per race, or timed race, makes more sense when the competition is good/strong. And for that AC has working pitstops in Multiplayer. Even if the functionality is not up to your standards, it has pitstops in MP and they work, so basically you can do as many laps per online race as you want.

The Career has several events where the series is a championship, each race has practice, qualify, race. And each race gives you points that sum up in a championship style. Some series are single races or time attacks, but the more advanced series with the GT and formula cars, the series are in Championship mode.

Well rF2's target audience is the most serious simracer[www.virtualr.net], most of which have no use for such built-in gamey features. Also considering a race event can last for days, switching out, or alt-tabbing out of the game between them shouldn't be a big deal.

If a game/sim is lacking in the racing simulation department then such built-in gamey features and game modes become a lot more important to compensate for what it lacks.

One would wonder that for a game that sucks so much and is so unrealistic, there's some fellows who like to spend their days with us and with such a game. And they deprive themselves from playing the bestest game, just to be here on steam forums informing us that the game we bought and play daily sucks. You have enlightened us all.

Well, considering AC doesn't do custom championships and relys on an external championship generator, it is on a par with rF2.
