Please help me confront a fraudster (HELP NEEDED)
Hello guys,

I have got into a serious trouble with a modder called Aspec7878 (aspec7878@gmail.com) who is selling payware addons.

I could not resist myself from buying the Lexus LFA pack (a car that I always wanted to have in my AC parking lot) as well as Porsche 959. Unfortunately I saw all the reviews of his mods too late.

In the result this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bag sold me car packs wihout proper SFX sounds (cars get muted once the track is loaded). According to his logics everything should look like on the screenshot below, where sfx folder works separately with his addons, and sfx 2 reserve (Assetto Corsa 1.2.5.) should be switched in when necessary.

I filed a double dispute on Paypal asking for either replacement or refund, he refrained from any communication at first, and then mailed me again the links for the cars and an SFX archive. I told him once more, both in email and Paypal message system that I need complete normally packaged mods with sounds and if he is failing to do so I am requesting a full refund.

In the reason of that this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bag (I would use more harsh words but there are rules here) - himself escalated Paypal dispute into claim probably seeking to exploit the Paypal policy of not covering the digitally distributed goods.

Please help me guys, I know we've had a lot of arguing here on the forums but combatting such ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bags that do not hesitate to do the most fraudulent things is very important.

Maybe you can give me some sort of advice how to prove Paypal that his mods are not "digitally distributed goods" (a definition he uses to rip people off and avoid responsibility) but pure scam intended to lure money from people.

Thank you in advance.

Ah this takes me back to the day of skyrim modding.

Steam annouced paid mods
Then it quickly got shut down.

Why the hell would you pay for mods

I'm fine for paying for mods, as long as the content is worth it. A great example would be URD's payware mods, or perhaps an FSX addon, there are plenty of those, and a lot of effort goes into them, way more than the majority of Skyrim mods.
Just don't buy it
Excellent news guys, with your help I managed to win both claims against Aspec7878 in Paypal and they are issuing me refunds for all his ripped addons.

Good result for you but that scammer will still get to keep the money. It is actually paypal who give your money back

At least I managed (with the help of forum members here) to prove that he is a scammer and his website is selling scam content. Now I will be able to pay this money to Kunos for the upcoming Dream Pack 2 and support their work.

As a rule of thumb - never pay or donate money for the unfinished, buggy or low quality content and if you feel that you were sold a bad product always fight back for a refund, exchange and so on.

BTW, do not trust Racedepartment too, as you can see this parasite managed to creep in there and is uploading ripped tracks again misleading people, then he will lure them to his payware scam store:

You can find good quality FREE modded content on the official AC website. These are vetted by other modders and staff, illegal content is removed swiftly.

Good job on the refund, I really didn't think you'd get anywhere with it.
iRacing is as bad as that scammer. They turn auto-renew on without you noticing then when you ask for your money back they try to charge $5, I got it all back in the end.

No matter how difficult the circumstances are you should always fight for your rights. Aspec7878 is not only a fraudster, he is an impundent scoundrel whose payware is not only ripped, but also is of a very poor quality, not working and quite expensive.

He should be kicked out of all the community websites, so I can only guess why Racedepartment tolerates him uploading ripped content there.

Racedepartment has a slightly more lenient policy when it comes to ripped material. Their ethos is, if the creator is not losing money or if the original copyright has expired, then it's more or less fair game.

Kunos only allows original creations or rips which come with the original creator's written permission. Also, the mods on AC's website are generally of very high quality compared to ones you'll find in random Google searches. A couple of mod cars and a track have made it to official content, that's how good they can be.

Having said that, a lot of what you find on AC's forum is hosted at RD but I've always searched AC's forum first just to be sure it's legal. I follow a rule of thumb for free mods: If it's not on AC's forum it's probably illegal.
I think I can think of two sites that have legal content that isn't on the Forum.
https://tpongracz.wordpress.com/ this guy is legit, and I don't think his mods are on the official forum.

https://acmods.wordpress.com/ This guy's Escort Gr5 is legit, but I'm not 100% sure about the old Escort MKII.
top guys mods are on the forum, as for the bottom guy the old escort is a convert, he said it was for testing purposes hence it never got updated. He now works for DRM revival. I highly suggest you follow sovers, out of everyone he trickels the most information out regarding that mod. of course its all teasers but its better then nothing.
The Euro Cup and Audi TT Cup are both pretty good, too.
I have bought several of his mods (Bugatti Veyron, Porsche 959, Corvette Z06) and they all work. I also have paid for mods done by another guy (that mainly does Porsche's, GT3, GT3 RS, Carrera GT etc), and they all work. The problem is the original Kunos sfx folder has to be swapped (I have a copy), then I have a "mods" sfx folder that I rename when I want to use the modded cars. They aren't scams, every car he has sent me has worked. And they have all been worth the $. They have good physics, and work properly (wing on Bugatti goes up at right time, flips forwards etc). You just aren't swapping the sfx folder properly (which he fails to describe). But still, they do work and are not scams. I would list the other guys site but due to Porsche having licensed content, he doesn't want the world to know about it as they would go after him (but again, they are good quality mods for $6 per car, better than Kunos honestly). I see all these people saying "if you paid for a mod it's a scam." I have not bought 1 single car, that I was screwed over on, obviously they have no clue. I have bought in total probably 8 cars from both of the people, and it was worth the $ everytime, didn't get screwed once. My latest purchase was the McLaren F1 road-car that was just released. I don't have a problem paying for mods. Without these guys, I wouldn't be able to enjoy some of these great cars, because Kunos isn't doing them (they can't do Porsche, don't have Bugatti License, and haven't done the Mclaren F1 roadcar etc). So I do appreciate their work as now I have a FULL field of my dreamcars that I get to race with, anytime I want.
