Just about to test now, wish me luck :)
Cpu: Intel core i5 2320 3.00 Ghz
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 single channel 668 MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AD-D3 socket 1150
GPU: Asus geforce gt 640 2GB
One thing though, disable vsync (in game menu and nvidia, in case is forced on for every game). And use a manual frame limiter. Set it to 60 or 64, depending on screen tearing.
One thing to check: some games install additional crapware for VoIP/chat which caused HUGE problems, namely Battlefield 3 did that. Audio was bugged in everything until I found and uninstalled that.
dont know which AMD processor your Intel does compare best to though, maybe some guys around here might be able to tell
BUT the issue could also be with your sound card/sound chip... sometimes running multiple sound sources at once, especially with a sound-loaded game, cause those cracks and soundglitches as well, depending on which sound chip your pc uses that might be an issue as well...
His i5 will be roughly 10-50% faster (depends on the app being benchmarked) than your AMD judging by the few benchmarks I've just looked at... In some benchmarks it's a tiny bit faster than my FX8350...
Are you using the software to by chance ?
But will give it a try tomorrow and let you know if it disappears completely!
