Biggest lateral G force in game?
Hello guys,

Did you manage to pull more than 1.6 G lateral G force on any vehicle?

I did an extensive testing on Suzuka track today (Malagoli Mod), with the cars that seem to have most downforce - URD PX Aura (Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro LMP1) and Formula Corsa Mercedes AMG W06 Hybrid and Williams FW37 Hybrid F1 mods.

All the F1s and LMP1 pull caped 1.6 g lateral G forces in the same spots and turns of the circuit. Does it mean that G force lock exists in AC physics in general?

No, it does not.

Cars like in F1 achieve the huge grip by the downforce they generate and that depends on aero configuration as well as what model of car is in question AND how well the mod IMPLEMENTS those values.

Also you really need to drive at very high speed since higher the speed, higher the airflow and higher the downforce. Slow speed corners won't give you much lateral G since that would depend more on the mechanical grip (tire and surface friction).

Plus I'm really skeptical that any random mod-maker has enough data or know-how to figure out what kind of aero information there is: it is not just the visible wings but ground effect from underbody and various other parts in car body affect airflow and downforce and aerodynamic drag of the car.

1.6G lateral sound about maximum with purely mechanical grip on purpose-built race car.
Values under braking and accelerating are of course different.

Try an oval track, either in the flat area where you can drive in circles on the skidpad at a constant speed, or try the oval section. http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/skidpad.5554/

The problem is the "G meter" python app: it can't show more than 1.6g.

Try Spa, there's some beautiful fast corners to try on.

You can get 1.6g early in a corner and then increase turn (which increases G-forces) but the meter can't show more.

Try some fast car there like the Ferrari F1 mod.

Which Ferrari F1 mod do you mean? I think that the best and fastest F1 mods are Formula Corsa Mercedes W06 and Williams FW37, they are very detailed and made according to real data.

Found the mod you are talking about. It is the F1 2015 ACFL from here:

Incredible F1 mod by the way, maybe not that high polygon and detailed as Formula Corsa, but physics are absolutely top notch.

Tested Vettel's Ferrari SF15T on Suzuka and still got the same 1.6 G lateral g force even when going into first corner of Suzuka right after DRS disengagement (corner entry speed is 330+ km/h). So it is true, the G Force app cannot show more than 1.6 G.

That does not say much yet, there is certain amount of data that is easy to get but does not go into details and then there's data that is restricted and not public..

it should reach beyond 1.6 g in the second half of that longest turn in spa where u go full throttle on a f1 car.

As I said already: the meter display is bugged, not the car or physics.

Hit a wall and if you see max g of 1.6 then it should show you the meter only shows 1.6g max, that is the issue not anything to do with the physics.

you can go to ...\assettocorsa\apps\python\gMeter

edit with python, in line 19 you have maxG=2,

increase the value :)
