Game doesn't detect controller.

Everything (as far as I know) is set properly: Steam recognizes my controller is connected, and the game says it detects my controller, but when I hit buttons, the graphic in the lower left doesn't respond. I've tried multiple controller configs and nothing works. Any idea what is going on? The controller works in every other game in the library that has support, so it can't be the drivers.

have yu tried to button assignment to see if detects then save the profile dont use the default also yu can try Steam Has Big Picture Mode ever opened on your PC? go into Big Picture Mode to the controller settings and disable Generic Controller

Also right-click on Assetto Corsa game
Properties
Controller
set it to "Disable Steam Input"

Now the calibration graphic in the lower left is showing inputs when I press buttons, but I have a second graphic that doesn't right next to it, and the game still won't accept any controller inputs.

assetto corsa has no controls assigned to buttons by default. go to settings and set the controls there

So the in-car controls work once I'm in a race, but the menus I still have to navigate with the mouse, which is kind of frustrating considering I could do everything with controller when I first got the game a few weeks ago. Then Windows did a few updates and now all of a sudden this mess happens.

This is an old PS3 Dualshock hooked up via USB cable, which my PC is somehow recognizing as an Xbox controller (even though it's not). But it's worked in every other game so far.
