I play with 98%100% AI strength and they don't do anything like what you mention. I drive side by side and snake formation on Nords all day every day and as you know that track is pretty narrow in many places.
Just turn down the AI till you get quicker, they expect you to be able to drive to a particular speed and if you can't keep up they will ram up. Just like I ram them when I don't expect them to brake in places. It happsn you just need to ask, was it me causing the issue or was it them? Often it's the human driver.
I can post about 10 nords videos of me going hard with the AI bumber to bumber if you want.
If you can because it's the only real way to find out is if YOU post a video of you racing the AI and then we can see where you brake and how hard. I'm not being rude by the way I think that's the only solution but post a video if you can pelase.
Yeah mate i've got 14 hours on pCars, I essentially do one race crack the ♥♥♥♥♥ and go back to AC because it feels better.
Also just thinking about it, if you haven't played in a while then you probably are getting used to all the new stuff, new tyre models and upgraded physics (not sure how long its been but I remember you from a while ago) tyre model 6 is incredible, try the KTM on Nords.
Recently there have been many patches that changed the way the cars felt and it took me about a month (i had a small break) to get back into it. You should be able to predict the body roll and weigh transfers a bit better now but yeah last few patches I lost about 10 seconds a lap because of all the changes.
Oh and upgrading wheel and pedals also threw me off and I had to get familiar with them.
Lowering the difficulty too much makes it too easy to win. 90% was perfect for me as I can keep up and beat 2/3 of the AI but if I make a mistake in some corner I get rammed too damn often.
Can't afford a wheel but I'm dreaming to own one with a clutch pedal. Too good to be passed with game like AC.
Just put some more practice in once you get a few seconds quicker that will stop happening and you can stay at 90%. if you're only getting back into it now I'm sure you'll be quicker in a day or two.
The 3 P's....
This can*t be that difficult to fix with programming, a regulare "If then" would help.
Yeah indeed they just push you out of the track as a result.
In every update they tell all the people who care to listen that they've made the AI more "intelligent" but in fact it's just the opposite. AI is getting worst and worst. I'm starting to really hate the game because of this and have 356 hours invested in it. If Stephano can't do anything about it, he should give his seat to someone with the capabalities to code the AI properly. There's no sense for him to be stubborn about it. He is great coding the physics but has no clue how to code the AI.
Door-to-door stuff is now possible, even through high-speed corners.
If they're hitting you from behind, you're simply going to slowly through corners OR you're pulling into them when you track-out without checking if the front of their car is completely clear of the rear of yours.
If the former, lower the AI difficulty / drive faster.
If the latter, use the rear-view more, or get the Spotter app.
The AI are programmed to slam on their brakes pretty hard to avoid crashes - and will often do so even when it's not needed - so when crashes do happen, it's generally the player's fault for not being aware of their surroundings.
If you have a crash, watch the replay OBJECTIVELY.
Imagine you were driving the AI car, and ask yourself who really caused the crash.
Drive as if you paid for the car, and have to pay for any damage you cause, because:
FUN FACT: You win more races when you stop crashing.
Sincerely,
Someone who can easily finish 10+ lap races (on 95-100% AI) without having a single bump.
The AI try to ram you into your flank.... if they are failing because you are able to avoid it, they are driving beside the track into the sandy areas of the circuit.
THe question is why is it not implementated in the basement of game code, instead of each track/circuit
Because that would be infinitely more complicated, and even less reliable.
