Logitech G27 issues with USB 3.0 ports
Does anyone know how to get the logitech g27 to work with a usb 3.0 port? I just got a dell xps 15, and it only has usb 3.0 ports, so when I troubleshoot it says that usb 2.0 is not compatible with 3.0. My G27 refused to showup in the device profiler, and I have no idea how to get it to show up. Is there a way to run usb 2.0 through the usb 3.0?

I have the gaming software installed, but the device doesn't show up in the detected devices window. Is there a different software I need to download first to get it to show up in the devices section of the Logitech gaming software?

Do you have the correct profiler software for the G27? the lgs510_x64 not thew G profiler for 920 or G29. And plug it into USB 2 Port. All the forum posts ive read say keep away from USB 3. And one last thing have you got the power supply plugged into wall and wheel and turned on at wall

I'll try out the old profiler and see if it works. My computer does not have USB 2.0 ports though, so I'm stuck trying to use the 3.0 port. Thanks for the help

the lgs510 is the only software that will work with the G27. are the led lighting up and wheel turning when you turn computer on

USB 3 ports are supposed to be backwards compatible with USB 2. I plug my G27 into a USB 3 port on the front of my full tower computer and it works perfectly.

So, what issues did you have? I've never had a problem using USB 3. There can be other factors, such as the OS you're running.

he was using the wrong profiler mate, as i said he fixed the issue. he installed the new G profiler for the G29/920 not the lgs510 profiler for G27

That would definitely be a problem. The various versions of Logitech Gaming Profilers can easily confuse people. I have a G19 keyboard and G700s mouse, which has a completely different version from the wheels, but they use the same names for them all, or at least they did a while back.

Yes. My beloved G27 I've been thrashing for years keeps telling me it hates USB 3.0. It refuses to work right in certain apps. The profiler changes UI to the new G29. I lose features like selecting degrees of wheel rotation doing nothing but plugging it into a new and powered USB 3.0 port. Very weird on Win7Ult x64. I went right off the motherboard with an old school USB 2.0 header. Even a 6 foot extender cable to it now. All perfect as when new. I need USB 3.0 for Oculus VR and 2.0 for G27.
