My Controller will not work help!
I have an old logitech controller, I expected the game to work with it as many of my other games do GTA V etc. My controller will not work with the Xbox 360 preset is it possible to fix this or should I refund?

It'd be helpful if you posted the model of the controller. You can also take a look at the official support forum[www.assettocorsa.net] and see if there's a solution already.

For it to work as xbox gamepad, you need a program for xbox 360 gamepad emulation.
Or in the game, switch the controls to wheel/custom. And see how it works there. The steering degrees (when assigning a gamepad) work in a way like a finesse setting. The d-pad is known to not work at all in the game, but maybe you won't be missing out buttons.

Tried that but it wont let me input any buttons other than the analogue sticks

Both in custom or gamepad controls mode, for throttle and brake it only accepts axis, not buttons. Preferably, an xbox 360/One, or a recent playstation gamepad, or steam controller would be best suitable because of trigger buttons (R1 and R2) that are axis. So for gamepad with buttons in the triggers won't be convient. For GTA V, is another type of game.
The xbox 360 with usb is cheap, maybe you can get one on sale, so it will work straight away with Windows games.
For now, try to set gas, brake, and steering to axis. And rest of actions to buttons, from Secondary tab in controls page.
The other thing I can recommend is to get a force feedback steering wheel. For example logitech driving force gt, G25, G27, G29. Thrustmaster wheels, like T150, T300, and so on. The experience will be more complete in a sim racing game and with ffb wheel.

My long running Logitech G25 and AC issue..

If I unplug all other USB input devices it works fine in AC.. If I choose to have the easy life and leave my other USB devices attached.. Nothing but issues from AC.

The wheel binds fine and works..
I turn off, go to sleep, new day.. restart.
Leave all my USB devices attached
AC says my wheel is configured.. enter a race... no wheel/throttle input. Steering and all other functions inc FFB are randomly scattered across the other USB devices. Steering could become the clutch pedal !

Leave the race.. The config screen says its fine... to make my G25 work with AC I have to manually go thru the rebind everytime. Loading a saved profile has the same random outcome.

This problem has persisted even after the following:
Windows has been reinstalled.. not from an image.
All drivers current.
Fresh AC install

And before you ask...
AC is the only game that has this feature.
rFactor, rFactor2, Race07, GTL, iracing, Arma2, Arma3 all work fine.

If I could refund.. I would. If AC were a physical DVD i'd have fed it to the shredder

"Leave all my USB devices attached"

What other usb devices besides mouse and keyboard? Apart from that, you could simply just unplug the usb of the G25 wheel before closing the pc. And next time when you start pc, and after Windows booted to desktop, and if you want to play the game, then plug the wheel usb again, and open Logitech Profiler. This wheel software needs to run before using the wheel in AC.
Why you have to rebind all and not load the g25 preset? Not talking about config that you saved. Btw, I don't have to rebind anything. G27 works whenever I want to use in the game, just as I left it. But I simply just take out the usb from the pc and only put it back when I want to use the wheel in game. Simpler than this couldn't be.

'What other usb devices besides mouse and keyboard?'
CH Fighter stick
CH Pro Throttle
CH Pro Pedals
Logitech Force3D stick (CH dont have FFB)
Xbox controller
Logitech G13
TrackIR
Logitech G25

Simple eh.. Plugging and unplugging means grovelling on the floor under the desk.

BTW Im not a noob with a pooter, I know about the logitech profiler.
I also know AC should work like it works for many of the other folks admittidly with less attachments.

I dont like the G25 Preset.. hence I have my own preset/profile/bind call it what you will

The reason is that other devices are taking priority over your G25 wheel. Ok let's say now you have all plugged in, with the game closed. And you go to control panel - devices and printers - right click on your wheel controller - game controller settings. There you can define priority. Now test in game and see if it works. Maybe just this time you'll need bind everything inside the game, and test out again after you restarted pc. But this time first check if the priority in Control Panel remained with your wheel.
Try to follow these suggestions and report back when you have time.

i use with PS2 controller. In asseto Corsa configure like you will use keyboard , and in the program xppader you must put each key that you use on the button you want on your Joestick (sorry for my english)

Thanks.
Already set:
G25 is ID1
In the advanced tab it is set as the default controller for use with older programs

In the hardware driver the wheel always shows the same port number.

I really have tried everything I can think of.
The wheel is directly plugged into a hard mounted USB port rather than a header or a hub
I have tried other USB ports
The only thing that I have had sucess with is unplugging everything else bar the keyboard and mouse.. and this isnt a solution as I dont want to grovel around the back of the PC under the desk everytime i want to drive, leaving the unplugged USB spagetti to figure out when i plug everything back in. Especially since everything thing else I play is fine with the everything in setup.

Maybe plug everything else into a hub and just disconnect the whole hub when playing AC. 1 cord = simpler :D
