In what way is "VR supported"?
The title says it is VR supported but fiddling around with it last night trying to get it to work on my quest 3 it looked there were multiple 3rd party programs to install and faff around with, which is not really my idea of VR supported?

AMS 2 and RF2 both work with VR without issue. Anyone got any tips with getting VR in AC to work or be as faff free as possible? I'm kinda thinking of just waiting for AC EVO though as hopefully VR will be built in.

Thanks in advance chaps.

AMS2 is definitely the best when it comes to working with VR. with AC, I know of people having success with low MSAA. Post Processing (if enabled) can hog a lot of performance. Try lowering the graphics settings in-game, and try standard resolution with a lower refresh rate on the headset itself, as a baseline test. I run AC in VR, if you still have any issues, feel free to add me up and I can try and look into your settings.

Hey thanks for the offer.
Can I ask what programs/method you use to get AC running in VR?

I only used CM, disabled Post Processing, Oculus debug tool can also be useful if you need to disable ASW

It's an old game, and official development has long since stopped. But fear not, the AC community have modded AC to the point where it's generally almost as good as AM2, and in some aspects (3D mirrors in VR) better. All this at next to no cost, and using Content Manager it's just a case of dragging and dropping.

AC in its standard form supports VR. Go to video settings and change your render mode to either OpenVR or Oculus mode. Of course Content Manager is the more popular launcher for AC but no 3rd party software is required to run VR other than your VR software (oculus/steamvr etc).

From the moment I connect my wheel to my computer, start CM, start my VR headset and join a server takes less than 60 seconds.

The only real difference between this and newer titles like AM2 is that in AM2 you can see the menu in VR too whereas in AC you simply choose your race settings first, then launch the race in VR and put on your headset. There's barely any difference, unless being able to see the main menu in VR is that important to you.

If you have a Vive head mounted display, then start SteamVR. Once your Vive is awake, press the little blue button on the left hand side of the HMD. This will bring you to the computer desktop inside of your HMD. Now you can use your computer using your HMD as your TV. Start the game you want and while the game is loading you press the blue button again and select the game icon at the bottom of the screen now you are in VR in that game. You can switch between the game and your computer desktop simply by pressing the blue button on the HMD and selecting the appropriate desktop slash game icon.

To put the game in full screen mode so your mouse is 1:1 both on screen and in your HMD, press (left side) Alt+Enter and the same to exit full screen if you need to interact with any other software like Crewcheif or yo want to enter your browser this is how you do it!!. have fun
