How to drive a F1 car
I'm a total sim noob, I have a g25 set.
And I've mostly just been driving the Silverstone national with relatively low powered cars.
Audi S1, Toyota Gt86 etc. But I'd thought I'd give a Ferrari F1 a go just for fun.
I choose one of the newer models (with "just" 800HP) I thought when driving a F1 car you'd basically slam the gass and slam the breaks, in out full throttle, full stop.
But that just makes the car spin. The is fantastic in the corners if I applying just a little throttle. But even on a straight line giving to much gas or to much break makes it spin.

Maybe you are not going fast enough to get the aero grip a F1 need. And also, pay attention to your tyres temp. A cold slick is giving grip almost as much grip as your pants on a stairs

If not then =>

F1 are fast, but they are not furious. SMOOTH is the word !

If you break the balance of your car, be it with throttle, brake or steering, you'll loose speed, or further, you'll loose control. And this works even with a Beettle.

It is always very easy to go fast : just push the throttle !

But if you want to be really fast on a track, you've got to have car exactly where you want it, at the exact speed it can go. Summing up : the trajectory is more important than the braking point, if you want the best corner speed

Driver61 actually put a video comparing his laptime vs rsrlivetiming. There was a modern F1 in the bunch & he was ridiculously off pace. The video got deleted, probably due to dishonesty.

i mean rsrlivetimings are pretty pointless to look at. Often times, the top laptimes are done by finding places where you can cut the corner without the game invalidating the lap. Better to look at a youtube video that proves they didnt cut corners
