help with some vehicle handling settings
Hey Team,

What settings do you use to help control car handling. I find that I am really struggling with this. Driving like on ice even when trying to take a soft turn at 50kms

Really loving this game, amazing graphics, sounds and overall driving feel.

I am using a Logitech G29.

Thanks

Hey welcome.

If you tell us what car/track/TC/SC/tyre settings you're using, then we can replicate the experiment and see what's going on

Check assists, stability control can make the car feel like no front grip sometimes, Traction control also can do that to some extent.

Check control settings - open pedals app and monitor if the pedals work correctly, if you want the car to turn use small amounts of brake.
Make sure you are not turning the wheel too much in most cases 90 degrees to the side is the max you'll need. You can try switching on enchanced understeer effect for force feedback to get a feel for it. (it overexaggerates what is happening to the car so best not to use it in the long run)

Thats about it when it comes down to "setup" rest is on the driver. If the car does not have grip, switching things around in car setup is going to add like 1-2 km/h corner speed while a small change to driving style can do 10-20km/h.

If there was one thing, i'd make sure to run correct tyre pressures (open tyres app and look for green numbers)

Also, as a fellow noob, I'll share the video that helped me the most when it comes to how to take corners. Before buying AC, and watching this video I had no concept of what things like trail braking or slip angles were, but once I understood them, it gives the confidence to actually take corners faster, and welcome that tyre slip because you know how much slip is good and how much is too much, so you have a window to aim for and the result is you end up going around corner faster on average. Give it a watch and try the same corners you're having troubles with again after this video

Thanks for your advice guys. I guess I can mention that everything is set to default.

If everything is on default then I'm guessing this is probably your first foray into sim racing ever. I was in the shame position some 4 months ago, slipping and sliding all over the place like a professional ballerina.

I invite you to watch the above video posted, work on the basics, things like maintaining the right speed, trail braking, etc, and try those same corners you're having problems with again at 50kph and I assure you there will be a noticeable difference.
