1. I would uninstall AC, and then delete the AC folder in my documents too.
2. download AC again, don't install anything else.
3. run vanilla AC and run an offline race, and then try to join a server online too
4. if everything is working so far, install the rest in the following order
4a) content manager
4b) CSP
5. make sure you can now run an offline race via CM and join a vanilla server too, something like Monza
6. now you can install mods, like shutoko, Akina, etc, and test those
Again, I highly recommend buying the unlocked version of CM but totally up to you, it's $2.
def not gonna take a few minutes i think the game is like 40+gb. but ill try this and get back to you. also, idk what csp is, and i'm not buying the content manager until i can actually play the game for once.
csp = custom shaders patch. It's a free addon that you install from inside CM. If you don't know what it is, I'm guessing you maybe haven't installed it yet and maybe that's what's causing some problems. If you look at my step 4 above, once you confirm the base game works, the next step is to install CM and then install CSP from within CM. CSP can be found from inside CM by clicking on settings top right, then CSP top left. If you want to try that before a reinstallation it might save some time, and also do a steam file integrity check.
Latest version of CSP public release is 0.1.79
i have something called sol installed from that youtube video i watched. is that the right thing?
I for one have had 0 problems with CM/CSP except when I first set up it nuked my controller config and I had to set it back up from within CM.
Nope. SOL is a weather mod you install for extra weather effects and stuff. In the above list of things I mentioned, things like SOL is number 6. Meaning once you've got everything working normally, and you've installed CM and CSP, then and only then should you install mods like new tracks, cars, SOL, etc.
AC is an amazing sim, but you have to install everything in the right order, otherwise things start acting up.
low key think imma give it a rest. it looks super fun, but no way its worth all this struggle. thank you for trying tho bruh i appreciate it regardless.
No probs. We're always here if ya need a hand
1. Select a server with left click.
2. After you did that there should be a list with cars on the upper right side.
3. Left click on a car with white letters ( the ones that are greyed out cannot be chosen, already taken ).
4. Click " Join " ( above the " Refresh server info " button ).
5. Enjoy.
Fck it imma try and see if I can get it to work. Can you link me to your version of the content manager? I'm assuming because mine looks different that I must have downloaded from the wrong site (this site; https://assettocorsa.club/content-manager.html) and maybe if mine looks like the imgur screenshot u posted earlier it'll work better.
Yup, that was one of my early guesses early on in the thread, since there's no reason our CM apps should be different really
i actually hit up other people to see what their's looks like, even though they dont have the full version their's still looks like yours. so mine for some reason looks different, which i assume if i figure out why will be the key to getting into this.
ok try this...
Delete content manager, the .exe file you downloaded. Then also, go to c:\users\*user name*\appdata\local" and delete the folder AcTools Content Manager.
Download CM again from the official link above, put it in a different location than previous, for example, just create a folder called C:\Content manager, and place the .exe file in there and run it. It should create a fresh install and link to your AC and steam. Now double check the online tab
now the menu shows up when i hit lan, but not for kunos recent or faves. https://pasteboard.co/OuiAqJTYxKH0.png
and NOW the menu shows up like yours and others. ok. So now that that works, how do i join that server with proximity chat like in that video i sent earlier? he didn't say the name i think in the video.
