Do we need to pay for the mods?
I've read a bunch and know about Pure, Sol, etc., but before I buy this I want to know if this needs to be paid for, or do we just download them with the content manager for free? I'm not interested in paying a monthly Patreon fee.

yea you need to pay once then you have it. When it gets updated you can pay again if you want.

Hmm. I'll have to look again. When I clicked the link to the Pure mod for example it took me to the creator's Patreon page where the only option was a monthly fee.

Most mods you can get for free.

Many of these mods will have updated versions, or pre-release versions that are for subscription-payers only.

If something is locked behind a Patreon, you can subscribe for the month, grab the content you'd like to keep, then unsubscribe when you feel you've paid what the mod is worth to you. You will be able to keep using that version that you originally unlocked.

I tried out Pure but it was still a bit buggy and limited so I'm sticking with the free version of Sol for now.

My car collection is hitting 1400, tracks close to 200, and I've only signed up to a couple Patreons to get some very specific content, the rest has been free to download.

It's a monthly fee yes, meaning you can support the author by donating as little as $1/month to help support their work.

But there's no annual contract locking you in. You can sign up for one month, download what you want, and then discontinue your patreon subscription

Also when we're talking about mods, it's worth noting that 99% are. Pure is one of the few that you have to buy, and a few cars here and there, but almost everything in the A community is free.

Ok, I bought the Ultimate version. I'll install the content manager tonight and play around to see what I can get.

Make sure to start a vanilla session first, without mods. Then if everything is working correctly, install CM, CSP, and so on

Well, it is up to you whether you transfer one euro per month, but you have certainly already spent hundreds, if not thousands, of euros on steering wheels, graphics cards, processors, storage space, possibly obscure key boxes, vr glasses, etc. issued.
Plus the games in the library which were a bad buy and missed the time to return.
For me personally, it's worth one euro a month that I get rain, that when I move my head towards the side window, the window steams up from my breath, puddles form, the ideal line slowly dries, etc.
But of course everyone has to know that for themselves.

There are free and paid mods. Paid mods are usually cheap just few bucks. If u can't afford to pay or having some problems with paying methods, free mods are still more than enough
