Corvette C7 which doing over 500 km/h....???????
1:st april or what???
Stingrays setup is geared to go over 500 km/h.... and Ford Mustang over 400.... insane default setup in gearing.

Both are in so high gears by default, and can´t be changed so they are undrivible. What´s this???

Welcome to AC. Just be careful pointing out any flaws in this "sim."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gear_train , if you have the power yes you can go 500 km/h but this gear like many other car IRL or in this game are overdrive gear for the fuel economy.... You wanted to buy a simulation well you have it.....

In the very link you just posted there's a great table describing the ratios for a 2004 z06. The equation gives you a 263.9 MPH speed at 6500 rpm which I believe is just shy of redline in 6th gear.

I thought maybe the mph wasn't working when it shows my corvette going over 260 mph. That it was stuck on kmh or something. I was just doing over 150mph in a little toyota.

Yes and i can add this link too http://www.allpar.com/eek/hp-vs-torque.html it have some table with torque and gear ratio, with that is easy to understand why you can have a gearbox who can handle 500 kmh with the gear but you need some heavy power train to couple that, it's why big truck have 18 speed and a mix of low and high gear.

Well, it´s a hell of a gearing by default...

Thanks for your answers.

That's because the top gear is designed for cruising down highways using less fuel than in lower gears, it's impossible to actually reach that speed because of aerodynamic limitations.

Oki, I understand that. Thanks.

Tried a battle with the gt3 awd and the r35 and gallardo......I still feel the vette was downgraded ( faster in corner but in acceleration after corner the vette was like missing 100 hp )- tried without and with tc...still feel nowhere as fast as the other 3.

Yeh it threw me for a minute thinking why the heck is top gear in both the Mustang and Corvette so frigging long, I couldn't imagine it being used for anything other than fuel saving on motorways and thats what its for.

So to me the Mustang has 5 gears, 6th gear is useless for racing anything but a dead and buried tortoise.
SKEPP Apr 1, 2016 @ 10:32pm
Are you all retarded? This gearing is made for economy. Of course the car won't be able to reach those speeds
