too complicated imho.. there is a guide somewhere, but i gave up...

i whish they´d at leat implement a p2p/vpn or such way for multiplayer sessions vs ai or so...

i know, there are people who did it (i play on there servers, so i´m aware :P) and it´s probably "totally easy" if you know what you´re doing

but i just want to play a map of my choise with a car of my choise with a friend or 2 sometimes and not get a certification in server administration...

yeah I do, bit of a faf but nice and easy once you got it working the first time. biggest ball ache is forwarding the correct ports in your router. if you guys want help with it give me a shout, really cant be bothered to explain it all here.

Heres the link (im guessing you have seen it already)
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?faq/dedicated-server-manual.28/

although half of that can be ignored. the main things to make sure you have done is the portforwarding and then starting your server with the acServerManager.exe.

anyway like I said, gis a shout if you need help.
Its also pretty cheap to rent a server and the user management interface is pretty easy you can set it for your liking. www.rackservice.org

At the weekends and in the evening I have seen a lot of full server. Maybe the problem is the time your are trying to find a race.

I disagree about not seeing a point to set up a server because there are track/car combinations with 0 server and there can be some player who not joining to servers because they don't like the available track/car combinations.

I have rent a server last year and and I made it public and in the evening there were a lot of race on it until I ran it. You don't need a full grid to have fun races , you just need a small group of player who can race "properly" (fairly, carefully, respectfully, fast, knowing the basic rules, etc.) . The public full grid races almost all of the time "watered down" to 4-5 cars racing in the last some lap meanwhile the rest left the race or sitting in the pit because either they can't loose or angry kids who ragequited after they wrecked everyone.

I rather play against 4-5 other drivers with my prefered car/track and have a fun full race than have a full grid race where I am wrecked by agressive/bad drivers from the first few position in the first corner so than I could restart from the pit from the last place than finish 5th as last position because everyone else left. lol :)

i got a problem, maybe someone knows:

i set up a server and had it running... it even pinged (like 45ms, which tells me it can´t be local) and i could play on it... ,but a friend didnt find it in the browser... any ideas?
anyone? :)
Just because you can Ping it, it doesnt mean you can reach it from the outside of your local network. Did you Portforward?
yea i followed the tutorial posted further above... i tried different ways, but that was the only way i could actually find the server in AC and play on it...
