Worth picking up? (Black Friday Sale)
As the title says: is this game worth picking up in 2022?

Black Friday sales tend to give certain games a boost in playerbase but I wonder for how long?

Are devs still working/updating this game?

Dont listen to the wheel people. Set your gamepad to 100% steering speed and hit the Drift track. Or check the little box that says mouse steer and run those time trials/races. I have played with all of the hardware and while admittedly a wheel will add a depth you cant fully achieve with other hardware, its all adequate really. Except for keyboard only. Never willingly do that.

^Note: For mouse steering you should also set the sensitivity/steer speed to full but additionally you should adjust your mouse in windows until you are confident the steering range is confined to your mousepad.

You can drift circles around the wheel people on a gamepad. The only loss with mouse steer is feedback and digital gas/brakes(enable mouse buttons for gas/brakes as well). The only thing you MUST do is click on the Summary icon before you join or start a track and navigate that nightmare to go manual/seq transmission(in assists somewhere). lol $800 dollar wheel a must.. lol.

For $3.99? Ya got nothing to lose and considering that AC is one of the best if not the best and most realistic racing game available (still) YEAH! it's worth picking up.

Make sure you purchase the Ultimate Edition not the base game.

Thanks for both of your comments, will consider that ultimate edition just to get it all in one

Best and most thrilling driving experience I've ever had on a PC/console and it's not even close. But it's all personal preference.

Def go for the ultimate edition because a LOT of car mods and servers out there won't work unless you have this or that DLC. It's a no brainer to get everything for $8, there's just too much good content in the DLC packs.

I mean, year does not matter if there is no successor yet (sequel or otherwise).

Yeah bunch of noobs to crash the pubic servers :) haha (im half serious here, it's better to get into such games off sale, you get more sane enviroment :P)

why is controller support so bad?

Because none of the devs ever played this kind of game on a pad. And its an indie game made by dozen people (with majority being art team).

Def get the game (if you like the dlcs too on sale only), its totally worth it, most realistic when it comes to driving / drifiting, getting to know the basics about that etc, there are modders continuing to work on updates with conetent manager you used to get if you may think about gettin' the game :104:

Content manager is a must have. Best launcher I've ever seen
Steel Curse Nov 25, 2022 @ 11:58pm
with the amount of modding , tracks, cars, and endless community made add ons and support your missing out if you didnt have this game for full price your were missing out. the add ons and a huge community creating endless content your not going to get a better bang for your buck,
Chief Langkaus Nov 26, 2022 @ 5:34am
I'll have to look into content manager. Only knew about this game because of drifting.

I'd assume AC Competizione is a whole different game?

Because to play it right you really need a wheel. You don't drive cars with a joystick.
