No pause/menu navigation with 360 controller?

Come on Kunos, it's the 21st century here. Yes I know it's a sim - which seems to be an excuse for making everything look half finished, including gamepad support apparently.
Is there any way to map the 360 controller to pause/unpause the game?

Utterly bizarre to me that they could release this without anticipating lots of people playing it with a gamepad. I do intend to get a wheel in the near future, but that's not the point. PCars has full gampad support, as does just about every driving game ever made, from sim to arcade.

Otherwise enjoying the game generally, but it's incredibly annoying having to quickly reach to the keyboard to pause, and the frantically press Esc and regain control of the car when unpausing.

The game is coming to the console, so it probabily will have full gamepad support on pc as well.

Use xpadder to bind esc to controller.

Why not they release a patch to let PC fully support for controller? Assetto Corsa console version is already fully support, right?
