I wonder if Kunos agree or not.
Some developers do, some don't. Personally, I'm of the opinion that if you write software people want, they will buy it. Even if they pirate it first.
We were pirating on darknet, we were pirating with five and a quarter floppies. It's always been around.
I get people want to get paid for their work. I want to get paid for mine. But if I push out ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and then cry when people don't want to buy it, I can really only blame myself.
It's like that m. night shyamalan guy crying that nobody wants to watch his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ movies... But they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥... Of course nobody wants to watch them...
Same goes for most of these AAA titles coming out, they are purposely crippled with the mindset of, "we can offer six DLCs that we developed at the same time we made the game and then sell them for half the cost of the game each". ♥♥♥♥ them. ♥♥♥♥ that.
I miss the old school developers that actually liked making games and wanted to play the games they made. Now, developers don't even play their ♥♥♥♥. They just push out what they're told and move on.
Money making business, I know... But don't expect your customers to go along with it if we're getting fed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
EDIT: None of this applies to Kunos, I was like, "take my money" after trying the AC tech demo some time back before they had this on steam.
I think he means there will be a demo when the game actually releases.
@tbgjlb, it wouldn't hurt anyone if you went to try this game by other means before buying it.
You don't seem to be the type of person that has an HDD full of unpurchased games, so trying this before purchasing is recommended, inspite of all the good/great reviews you may have read up until this point, then you can see for yourself what the current early access game is offering up until today 1st of august (because the game will expand with more driving content and game side content after release) (we are on version 0.21.13, and you will find a bit older versions out of steam).
Hey, trying games before purchasing has saved me jumping into grid 2 and grid autosport (see for yourself the complaints people have about those 2 finished and released racing games and the great reviews people have on assetto corsa early access), and instead I purchased Spin Tires and after that, Assetto Corsa.
I am glad I acquired Grid Autosport before buying as it was advertised as simcade, there's nothing slightly sim about it! I will however pick it up when it is on sale as about 30 minutes in I discovered MINI Miglia racing! I acquired Spintires the other day and will be buying that at midnight tonight when I get paid.
I think most devs probably expect torrenting for testing, it might be why there's not many demos these days - saves them some work.
