yet keep in mind that the menu-system and the game-engine are two seperate executables. Unfortunately the game-exexutable is called acs.exe not Assetto Corsa.exe. So if it is a profiling-problem, acs.exe is what you want to bind it to.
Then again: Take a look at the advanced in-game settings. Did you knock down the global multiplier by mistake? Did you maybe switch the controler-type to hand-held controler instead of wheel?
you say it is working in other titles, hence I assume some hidden/obscure setting to be switched the wrong way.
does the wheelbase have a switch for ps3/ps4 mode? If so read up on which one it is that the drivers on a PC need you to set it to (owner manual, documentation)
When you turn your pc on does your wheel calibrate? as in turn all the way left then all the way right then back to centre? Then you need to find windows device manager (win7) or connected devices (win10) and see if your wheel is correctly recognised as a logitech jobby. If it isnt then its probably a driver issue or a LSG issue (thats not really a suprise from logitech)
Oh and you might wanna go back to the default profile in LSG just to narrow down possible faults, we know the default profile just works as is.
When you say all the buttons and such works do you mean you can actually drive a car round a track but with no FFB or is the wheel dead and unresponsive once you are sat in a car?
It has been tested on a 2.0 port
I looked in the in-game settings. Everything was on default, I just mapped the steering, shifting and stuff via the Configuration wizard (in in-game settings).
The wheelbase have a ps3/ps4 mode. I was told from Logitech website that it has to be switched on ps4 mode and the LGS has to be downloaded and updated. Of course, checked.
The wheel does calibrate normally as you say. I looked in the connected devices and it's there (as a G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel)
Also I tried the default option in LGS + any other possible option. This is quite simple since the LGS has only two boxes to tick. And I'm really curious about this one.
First box - Activate centering spring in games with force feedback.
Second box - Allow the game to adjust force feedback in in-game settings. (I'm like this is it! This should allow the ffb!) - however this does nothing. No ffb when ticked or unticked...
And yeah, the ffb is the only exception that doesn't work, it's so strange.
... if it is not just this really annoying windows update - bug that exchanges the identity of any G-series wheel with a df-gt.
things to check before returning:
does the device-manager show the wheel as a G29 or a "Driving Force GT"?
...if so: there are known fixes for that problem
The early batch of either G29 and G920 had an issue reuqiring a firmware-update amongst other things like internal connectors rocking themselves loose. The former shall be fixable with a driver&firmware update, the latter is not something you can do anything about
did the power-jack really stay inside it's socket when mounting the thing onto the desk? I do remember the mounting and unmounting of my G25 to be a pain in the a... ...until I got my racing-seat which it was affixed to permanently from that moment moving forward. As far as I can see, all the G-series wheels still use essentially the same casing up to this day. Without power I remember everything to work except the steering-axxis and ffb (on a G25).
So yeah, if all else fails: cut your losses (in time and effort in this case) and get it exchanged for a working unit. Or better yet a T300 :P
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\cfg\controllers\presets
Open Logitech_g29.ini with notepad , look for >
[FF_TWEAKS]
MIN_FF=0.12 <<<<<<<<<<< try increasing this value (1 is prob 100%)
CENTER_BOOST_GAIN=0
CENTER_BOOST_RANGE=0.1
"DAMPER_GAIN=1 ; Set to 0 for Logitech g920
i guess the g29 is like the g920 so you might want to set that to 0 also?
Otherwise i don't know, but try the profile for assetto in LGS
I think I'll have to bring it back.... Thanks again for the support
Maybe this can help http://oi63.tinypic.com/2d8546h.jpg
And if not then you might have a faulty device.
Doesn't work, but thank you very much for trying to help. It has to be the device itself, I'll try to get from them a new one.
I do not play any other racing games with my wheel (G29), but in AC, everything works as a charm. I guess if none of the above mentioned helps and it works in other games, try to get rid of the AC folder and all the 3rd party apps and try to configure it again. Theres really no reason for the FB to not work in AC if it does in other games. Thats clearly no faulty hardware ...
No, I actually meant that the FFB doesn't work in any game (I listed the games I tried to play with FFB at the very first comment).
You downloaded the correct Logitech Profiler software, yes? If so, disable or zero damper and centre spring and select allow game to change ffb settings- then make sure the profiler is pointed at acs.exe not the other executable as thats just the front-end menu system, acs.exe is the actual game when on track.
If your wheel is picked up by the Logitech Profile and in games you can see sterring working but you have no force-feedback make sure gain in the profiler is at 100 and if it still does not work, I would assume its faulty and return it.
