Simulators should have realistic handling, not artificially difficult handling. Have you driven a real car fast on roads with tight turns? You typically don't have to slow down to 10-15mph
Name the car and corner. I'd be interested in trying it.
Edit: i mean, the car edition says it has a "spoiler", but when you look at that thing you can tell it doesnt do anything to downforce, more to aeodynamics and looks
and what do u mean by VW gold alltrack? i never mentioned sth like that
As for why I like this game. A few weeks back I had a track event at Watkins Glen. I spent several weeks before the event training on a mod track of Watkins Glen in AC. Some of the nuances between the game and reality were different, as it always is. Nevertheless, it was very helpful to learn the track before I ever got there. Turn in points, braking points, and the line were almost exactly the same between AC and real life.
Frankly, if you are saying I get "massive understeer" at some very low speed there is a problem with either your setup or driving style. I say, "I hit the bus stop at Watkins Glen at 80 mph in real life vs 90 mph in AC because I want to live."
I've 2500 hours in this SIM, i race in leagues and have won leagues. I can definately take a corner are more than 30mph @jackalope.....
To those who refunded (playing on a keyboard) - thank god you did..... don't need you ruining an online race LOL!!!
You might be surprised.
A short wheelbase Clio that gets all its grip from the chassis will have a smaller turning circle than a purpose built racecar that gets most of its grip from aerodynamics. Many a McLaren, Corvette, or Ferrari have fallen to a lowly Miata or Golf in a parking lot autocross. If you built the course tight enough, your car would defeat an F1 car. If you built the course tight enough, a F1 car wouldn't have the turning circle to even get around the course. They have to build special steering racks to get around Monoco.
EDIT: I DIDNT MEAN TO INSULT ANYONE WHEN I SAY BETTER ALTERNATIVES
Don't get me wrong you can have fun in Assetto, that's the primary goal of a game, even a sim I would argue, but it's not terrifically realistic and definitely not compatible with drifting thanks to the FFB and odd high-slipangle tire behaviors I haven't been able to isolate in the tyre.ini over 6 hours of tweaking and scouring the internet.
