BeamNG or Assetto Corsa?
Been itching for a racing game recently, and these 2 are the ones that caught my eye. I know BeamNG is more focused on realistic crashing and such, but how's the racing / drifting? Is Assetto better in that regard?

Played BeamNG a lot, and JUST started playing AC, but I know BeamNG has some super fun races in the mods page and the crashes and damage make each win feel earned because you didn't crash. As for AC, it seems super sim like so more attention to driver technique. If you want a somewhat laid back, more street race type then go BeamNG, but if you want a hard simulator on racing tracks get AC.
i’ve actually never played either beamng or assetto. i have actually been thinking about which i should get like “so beamng and assetto are both fun with a wheel, but beamng has more crash physics and funny things to do. but assetto is like more of driving and cool cars. from what i’ve seen on youtube..”

If you want a racing sim with nice tracks cars and actual racing..then Assetto Corsa for sure.

If you want a game where you mostly just crash cars and see how they crumple..then BeamNG for sure.

I play both, and enjoy both for different reasons. I have way more fun with Assetto Corsa, because I like racing.

Both are worth getting, as Jonny says.

Beam might be better getting into if you have gamepad, while AC feels more natural if you have a wheel. But both can be run with either controller.

Both games have tons of mods but AC depends a bit more on them. AC starts to shine after you get few QoL / graphics mods, while Beam has a bit smoother first time player experiance.

If you want to race or drift, AC does it better still. While Beam has a deal with Automation game where you can build own cars from scratch to use in Beam (in AC you need to be a modder to do it).

BeamNG is just a sandbox. It gets tedious after you’ve crashed a bus into a van a 100 times ;p (i do have it) sure it’s amazing the first dozen times, there’s tons of workshop stuff but it’s all the same. Nothing beats a championship plus the replay system in Beam is just bollocks and ancient archaic garbage. I spent more time watching vids on YouTube than i did ever waste my life editing my own vids when i seen the hoops and crap you have to go through.
