how to play private match with friends?
Hello, there is an easy way to make a server? I came from Grid, it was just select "online" call friends by steam and run.
I think that I'm falling on harder tutorials than I really need and missing a very simple option on menu.

I probably can't be much help, but for AC it will not be as simple as Grid. I do not believe there is any such very simple option on the menu. Also the default menu is not the best, so I would use the CM to launch the game, personally.

Hopefully someone can give you some more useful tips about how to set up a server. I can't, I've looked into it and it's a tad more work than I want to do.

I guess I'm just confirming you are not missing a super simple button on the menu.

If money is not an issue, these days it's easier to setup games like AC by renting a server... thou the difficulty varies between hosts. I dont use one so cant really advise here.

Official kunos stuff is pretty clunky so yeah it will take following tutorials really closely.
Also if your ISP blocks your ports, you will need to either unblock them or do it through virtual network.

Unfortunately AC is at it's core an indie game that never had the budget to do seamles multiplayer. Funny considering how popular it got recently, years after development stopped. But thats simracing for ya haha.

edit; still, there should be plenty of options to choose from in the "online" section if you pick the right criteria, so you can all join an empty server for example.

Excellent and easy idea. There are literally hundreds of empty servers to choose from, just pick one, share the name of it between friends and jump on

If you check in your tools section of your steam library, there's a dedicated server tool. If you'd like to play the game bad enough on your own custom server, find a tutorial and use that. If not, do what they said above and find some empty one. Doesn't look like theres any 'express' way to host a server, not even on LAN.

There is system called Rorzone where you can create your own lobby with friends.

Can you elaborate on this, i have yet to find a decent way to play with friends, i tried following some tutorial but it was way too complicatd and in the end did not work.

It depends on if you want it to be private for just you and your friends, or not. But just pulling up the online server list and picking a track, albeit one that supports the cars you're using, is so simple even I can do it. You click on the track and hit the join button. Quite often you can find a server that's empty, or has just a couple of people on it.

Not hard, I run a server quite a bit and have no issues - dedicated server - for family/friends only. Using Content Manager - you name the server, set password, and launch. Make sure the port forwarding is good and firewall bypasses are in place. Pretty simple.

Running a game server on your local PC risks security, network performance, and stability. It can strain resources, expose you to hacking, and depend on your machine staying online. I do not recommend anyone hosting server in their own machine unless they really know what they are doing.

NO need to fear hosting for you and your friends, you can put a password on your server, don't listen to the fear mongers, i've been hosting a public server for over 6 years now on my second machine with content manager

The problem is that you are opening ports from your personal machine to the internet and anyone can access trough if it's not done properly. It has nothing to do with ac.
