External Drive

This isn't a problem with the game but for some reason i cant use assetto corsa on my main drive. I have tried all the tricks online but it wont work and only works on my external drive but for some reason my external drive does not show up on file explorer then crashes file explorer every time I open it. It also crashes steam when i plug it in, then i reopen it and it works until i try to install a game onto it or open a game that was on it. Idk what happened it just started happening and again its not the game its the drive but i cant play the game without the drive and im just resorting to this. If there is a IT expert or whoever fixes this type of stuff pls help because i have been pulling my hair out for months trying to fix this thank you.
