Which mods are most used for online play?
just looking at some mods with a freind but some of the best....are no longer free, ok fair enough, but i don't want to go online, with a mod and then finding nobody is using it?, and am i right in thinking that the Nordschleife is the most popular track?, i had a version from racedepartment but it seems nobody is using it, unsurprisingly i guess given there is a pay version, which i guess is a must buy? .......thoughts suggestions feedback?

thx

in order to play on a server that has mods you must have that mod.
so i wouldn't know what is the most commonly used ones.
also yes you will have to buy the nurburgring dlc to play on a server that uses the dlc

I think that if you don't own the cars and tracks being run on a server , you can't join the server. If like me you race on the Nordschleife almost daily, it's a must buy. Best track in the world.

And like you I also first tried the Snoopy version on RD, enjoyed it and then got the official track which is way better.

Servers can be run with mods. These servers need the same version of the mod as you have.
Since the Nürburgring Nordschleife is in the "Dream Pack 1" DLC that version is used by most server hosters.
You should have bought the "Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition" with all DLCs instead of the base game.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Its fine. I bought the base game first to see if I liked AC, I did, then bought all the DLCs on sale when they were just 1 or 2 dollars each.

Best thing would have been to get the ultimate edition on sale for like $5which is the best game bargain I've ever seen in my life but gta wait for sales. All in all I spent around $35 on the game and all the DLCs which I ended up buying after, still worth every single cent.

thx for all the replies people, definately will be of help, so as well as the official expansion mods will be grabbing a few paid mods as well, these used to be all free, but hey ho guess the creaters deserve paid jobs as well they are after all dedicating a lot of time for everyone else's benefit from here btw if anyone didn't know www.assettocorsamods.org only hope servers are running them online..p

cheers

Yeah after what SDD have done in the past I wouldn’t touch their mods. And word is they’re still up to their old tricks in terms of ripping, there is a strong suggestion the physics for their 2022 F1 cars are lifted straight from RSS.

Hmm welli read all the posts, but if they did steal everything as some are claiming why is it i can't find another source for these mods either paid or unpaid, and btw patreon is deceptive bs, is still a means to an end, ie get money for selling you the mod and actually much more money as patreon is an ongoing mind trick i would say scam obviously some would strongly disagree with that assertion buti don't really care, i speak my mind...

also ASR formula are doing the same thing only they are tempting people wilth a few free cars from a series mainly retro f1, and then charging much more than simdream are for the rest of the mod as you have to buy each car separately, yet i don't see so much hate for these guys even though their profit margins are higher.....and the way they are getting you to purchase the mod is much more devious, more like sneaky marketing you expect from a company you never really trusted while simdream are not hiding thier practices.

At the end of the day as AngryJoe would retort they are both imho "Fu*ck you give me money".. given mods ALL used to be free gratis nowt nothing etc...

comtent manager though is helping me decide which are most popular i would say overall prob the best mod app etc ever for assetto corsa, and most of what it can do is free, so glad i rediscovered it..

The reason why you see such hate for SDD is because when their thieving ways were brought to the attention of the general public by a well known YouTuber they claimed copyright infringement on him and tried to have his channel shut down. It took the effort of a few hundred if not thousands of people to have this stopped and only then did they apologise. So yeah fu#k SDD.
