if it detects your wheel, disable any custom button profiles & try to disable vibration/ffb there. then save/exit. I don't use BP mode personally but disabling it all together has fixed my xbox1 controller & wheel detecting problems for other games in the past. :shrug:

Actually best would be to manually change it in file: FF_SKIP_STEPS=0 in assetto_corsa.ini in AC->system->cfg to something higher than 1 (as thats effectively what the half ffb rate does). If it helps then just go down to 0 with gain if FFB is undrivable.
Otherwise if you want to shed FFB completely, i'd try virtualizing the wheel. Just have a software like vjoy and UCR (universal control remapper) to pass the inputs through to a virtual driver.
Just a heads up if yer on a a logi wheel get the app ffb clip
It will allow you to not only change ffb on a car by car basis while on track but it also removes/minimizes any clipping.
It's far better than the default in game ffb app
