I'm not sure of the difference between the CSL and CS 2.5 but if price is important, the loadcell brake with the CSL Elite is probably the best to go for.

For most sim racers, good pedals will make the best increase in lap times for hardware upgrades- load cell brake is highly recommended.
Are the club sports & V2.5 worth the additional money? Yes, if you can afford them.

Dude...thanks for the info on the black Friday sale. Here I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a Thrustmaster T300 Alcantara then pair with Fanatec CSL Elite pedals with the load cell mod, but now seriously looking at Deal #3 which is the CSL Elite wheel starter pack for only $299! Add on the load cell brake mod and that is basically the cost of just the T300 without the pedals. I think I just found my economical path to going Fanatec instead. Only issue is the wheel with the Fanatec starter pack appears to be rubber grip material on the wheel instead of Alcantara, however also heard from others that the Alcantara gets pretty jacked up from long driving sessions unless you wear gloves, so maybe this is the better choice.
The only thing is I see some people have had quality issues with Fanatec stuff breaking, however it seems there is also a pretty high rate of T300's breaking down as well so I think it all balances in terms of risk with either or.
I'd be more worried about the plastic wheel cracking at the base attachment . Get any one of their F1 , bmw or porshe rims as these have an aluminum base for quick release .
Still, someone else did mention today to me with the money I am saving, if I added another $100 on that I could get their black Friday deal for the universal hub which comes with a free rim. Only thing is right now they don't specify which rims qualify as your free rim.
Not sure if I will spend the money saved on another wheel, upgrade to the inverted Clubsport V3 pedals instead of the CSL Elites, or get a shifter (probably a Thrustmaster TH8A instead of the Fanatec one).
If you end up with the CSL, and after the Direct Drive base arrives, you will be sitting there with 3rd teer hardware, wondering what it would be like. Consider a package that you can upgrade or maybe save till you can afford one of the higher grade V2.5 bases or DD.
Cardr: That wheel looks cool, but I already have a Formula Carbon with upgraded Ascher Racing Magnetic Shifters. I wish it had been a FerrarI 458 Rim
Yeah I know, but I can't justify spending that much on my sim setup at this time when I have a real track car that demands it's own constant stream of funding to pay for track days and maintenance. Plus I honestly don't always have a lot of time available to sim race. I'm warped in that I translate my purchases into number of track days...this purchase will already cost me about 3 track days...LOL. The CSL Elite base is still a huge step up from my old G27 especially with a load cell brake. As long as I don't ever try a DD or a V2.5 then I won't know what I am missing, therefore I'll be totally content with what I have.
I am seriously considering getting the Clubsport BMW wheel though instead of the cheapo stock P1 wheel it comes with.
I never had the opportunity to try the elite base, but the construction looks like a crossbreed of a CSR & CSW. It should make that G27 feel like an old farm tractor. With the V2/2.5 it’s not so much of the added power, but the smoothness of the internal components that allow the small /fine FB signals to come through. Signals that can be lost within the hardware of other wheels.
If you do get a Fanatec, look for a 3rd party app called ‘Fanaleds’. It can add features for rev lights, variable led readouts, and vibration motors (found in CSP’s and some rims). Check their forum for user shared files.

As far as the buttkicker, have you done any research into transducer / bass shakers? Arura and Dayton on sale at parts express. They do have random sales throughout the year too.
