essential mods question?

Ok, i'm just now getting around to setting up a few racing games and next on the list is this, however its moddable and I know there are some amazing mods for it, however I have 0 idea where to start and am wondering if there are any mods that are considered essential? things like changing how cars feel, control, or how the game plays, I think i should start there before anything else.

- Improved launcher and UI, and more game options than std launcher.

- Improvements in many areas, game optimisations, day/night cycle, physics, graphics etc
- 1.60 is 'recommended' however I would recommend 1.68 at the minimum, you need 1.63
at a minimum for Sol 2.1.#, CSP 1.69 minimum for Sol 2.1.#

- Improved weather options, with changeable weather in session. Improved
contrast/brightness options, etc

Both CM and CSP (if configured properly) can improve fps although if you go hard out with CSP options it will look great but affect performance depending on your PC. Sol will consume some fps although once again this is up to your settings as to how much.

Driving aids such as Helicorsa (car radar) or crewchief are recommended. As for car and track downloads (and skins, ai lines, physics improvements for specific cars) racedepartment is one of the more trust-able sites, as in they have restrictions on stolen cars/physics etc and also the rating system is relatively decent.
