no root folder

in order to install Sol properly you need to put in the AC root folder..... I do not have one. Should I reinstall AC?

Right click on the game in steam library -> properities -> local files -> "browse" , there is your AC root folder.

No wonder and no need to be ashamed, the author of Sol used a rather more technical term.

Root directory (or root folder) of a game is just the main game folder (without going inside the subfolders inside this game folder).

For Assetto Corsa on Steam, the root folder for this game is called "assettocorsa". It has the file "AssettoCorsa.exe" inside it.

So this is the root (main) folder of Assetto Corsa:

D:\GamesSteam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa

This is not the root folder of Assetto Corsa (this is a subfolder of the root folder):

D:\GamesSteam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\apps

The first part (D:\GamesSteam) will vary for the user, depending on where you have the game installed on your system.

Check your Recycle Bin (not sure if it would have all fit) and restore it. If the contents are not there then redownload the game.

right click on AC in your steam library
choose properties
installed files
verify integrity of game files

This will restore any missing files
