Shadow appears to follow the car, Sun seems far away
The light/sun keeps moving away from the car which causes lack of visibility. I am attaching few screenshots as they might explain my problem more efficiently.

1: You can see light at the top of Raidillon turn in Spa

2: As I moved closer to the turn the sun moved backwards

Please help

[EDIT}
I downloaded CSP and disabled the features that I do not need and enabled the optimisations, turns out the game is running better than before and without that shadow bug.

You don't need to download Sol straight away, but if you do ensure you download CSP version 0.1.68 as this is the required minimum for Sol 2.0.2. I'd still recommend CSP 1.68 if you don't utilise Sol.

Are you running the vanilla game, ie no mods?

I may have installed a graphical mod to improve performance a long time ago, the thing is I haven't played this game for about 4 months so I don't remember the name.

If the problem is a graphical mod do I need to reinstall everything? I have lots of tracks and cars installed so It will be great if you can recommend a way where I don't have to reinstall all of them.

Thanks for the help

It looks like a shadow distancing issue. Are you running Custom Shaders Patch? Sol? Content Manager?

Thanks for the help, I will try these mods out. I have a low end system so which of the following are suitable for a bit lower end systems?

If you wind down a lot of the extra or enhanced features of CSP it may slightly improve performance. What are the specs of your PC?
Vin Petrol Mar 28, 2021 @ 11:26am
I find when zooming in and out by changing FOV, the large shadow in the distance can move to a closer and unattractive place.
Not sure if related, but between moving camera, changing time and FOV, you can usually loose it.
Hope it helps

That could be worth trying, I'm using VR so FOV is not something I need to worry about therefore haven't experimented with.

OMG It worked! Thanks

I tried to disable most of the things except Tire FX and few lighting tweaks, I think it runs better now, is that even possible? I thought CSP was a graphics enhancement mod, but it looks like it optimised the game a lot.

I will try that Vin, but the problem is already solved, thank you very much for the help though.

Hey that's great news, glad it sorted it for you. Yeah the main selling point of CSP is a graphics enhancement mod but it really is a total game enhancement mod. Ilja (the creator) and the handful of other people assisting him have done a great job with optimisation.

Now slowly start adding features back in and see how it effects your rig. Shadows and reflections are the most costly, along with extrafx. But there is no harm in trying.
