Cars Stalling on Grid
I have been playing AC for about 4/5 months, first using mouse steering and braking and now with a Logitech G29 steering wheel and pedals and the difference is amazing .

I noticed a worrying trend lately and would like to know if anybody else out there has the same problem. I am following the 'Career' path and I am on AT2 but have noticed that when starting a race some cars stall on the start line and it is necessary to take evasive action.

So I am lapping on the first lap in about 4th place and come around to the start straight again and the 3 cars in front of me collide with the stalled cars (despite yellow flags) and I am left all alone for 14 laps to go on and win the race!!!

I know this great for the points tally but along with the fact that I want to race other cars and it all seems to be a hollow victory somehow. I am left to challenge myself by producing quicker lap times to pass the time of the race. Not what I bought AC and then G29 for.

Does any on else have the same problem,? it doesn't happen all the time and not on the same tracks but when it does it most frustrating. Many Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Derek

there's an "automatic clutch" for you (no clutch pedal) in the driving options/assists

He meant some AI cars are stalling on grid and not moving at all, not that his car is stalling.

Uhmm. If it's the AI 'stalling', why exactly do you care? Just whizz past them as fast as you can, lol. You should be happy you could. :)

sorry I misunderstood, I thought YOU were stalling. As Ragequit Inc. said, why do you care? It looks pretty realistic to me, stalled starts happen online and IRL too

I’ve struck a similar issue which I e resolved by pressing restart session 4 times while sitting on the grid. This just resets the cars on the grid, it doesn’t lose any settings etc.

It's an annoying bug, happens on many tracks and many cars. It's a shame because although you can pass the other cars when they slow down on the next lap for the stalled cars (forced yellow flag rule), it spoils the race..i'd rather win battling it out, much more fun

EDIT: Fix for PC users using Custom Shaders Patch: Untick 'AI Flood' and restart content manager. If the problem continues turn off "New AI behaviour" entirely. Worked for me.
